This audiobook is incredible! the narrators couldn't be anymore perfect for the roles they're reading and have ripped My heart out chewed it up spit it out and put it back together multiple times... so much so that I had to take a break after chapter 74 I think when Khan is telling the world how much he loves Rave and how shattered his heart will be.. I was crying my eyes out for a solid 40 minutes.. the narrators create such intensity through the story and the story itself is spell binding.

My favourite book I’ve read/listened to this year

Dragons, world building, angst, revenge, romance - what more could you want!? I loved it from start to finish.

A promise of potential

I really liked this book. The world is interesting and feels unique, and the plot is nicely put together. My only wish is that the story would be presented in a way that the glossary/PDF would not be needed, as it "rips you out of the story" when you have to pause and look something up. I personally prefer a writing style a bit less "fluffy" but for those who do like it, I think this book in many ways will be a home run.

Hard to listen at the beginning

This audiobook takes a look of concentration but the female voice actor is so off putting at the beginning. I replayed the first 10 chapters a few times and almost gave up, I am so glad I didn’t! The book itself is wonderful, a magnificent read/listen (once you get past her annoying voice that sounds like AI)
I cannot wait for book 2!

Such a cool world and magic system

This was a book of two halves for me. The first few hours of this I was completely lost. Intrigued, but lost! The world building is very much happening as you go along, rather than as part of the introductions to the story and the character. Things are worked out as the story progresses so just go with that low level bafflement initially and discover the story along with the characters. It’s a really beautiful story and I can’t wait for the next!!

The END CREDITS mention the glossary that’s a free pdf download. I’d strongly recommend looking at that before you start the book so you’re not as lost as I was!

Magical world and fantastic story

Amazing take on dragon lore, magical world with awesome elemental magic system and interesting cast system. Loved the characters and the story line kept me guessing up until the end. Unique love story that is different from many other romantasys. Can’t wait for the next one to come out !

Fantastic world building

This book is fabulous. The narration is clear and the characters are a pleasure to follow. The world is completely original and built in a way that sets the imagination alight. I can’t wait for the next in the series.

A great listen

I loved listening to this. A treat for fantasy fans.
Although gory and very distributive
love scenes it was a book I couldn’t put down. It’s written beautifully and weaves in and out of past and present. Also has the odd chapter from other main characters which gives the story depth.
