After working with thousands of dogs with leash aggression, dog aggression, human aggression, resource guarding, separation anxiety, and overall troublesome behavior, world-renowned trainer Sean O’Shea, owner and founder of The Good Dog Training and Rehabilitation; saw some recurring themes consistently derailing the human/dog relationship. Something big was indeed missing, and without this critical piece, the foundational "why" underneath it all, even the best training and coaching practices were still struggling. Pouring several years into compiling, writing, and re-writing, he crafted a training book like no other. A book which clearly articulated how our human emotional tendencies, intellectual misconceptions, as well as a lack of understanding of our dog's true needs, were deeply sabotaging our best intentions. A book which offered simple, but profound answers for these struggles.

One of the best dog training books
What every dog owner should read. whether you are getting a dog or struggling with your dog, this book is for you. common sense. practical advice to strengthen your relationship with your dog. No fluff, no jargon. no promises of an easy win but an honest book with honest facts from an honest trainer he tells it as it is.

A brilliant book, thank you Sean!
An absolutely fantastic read and listen! Sean's concepts truly come to life and after following his content on social media, and purchasing his fantastic online courses, this book was the final piece to the puzzle. His concepts make so much sense, and this book offers a clear, concise resource to really up the dog training game. Sean's sensible and critical approach has built a strong and respectful relationship with my own dog. I highly recommend this book, no matter where you are in your dog training. Sean will equip you for any stage of your training journey.

So disappointed
I was so excited about this book I am completely on the same page with the concept of leading and everything that was was said in the start of the book about the relationship with your dog but he kept talking about consequences I was like yes ok give me some examples … nothing … then i realized he was saving that… the book is one giant pitch for e collar and prong training, I’m not against this if it’s right for a dog in the right situation, although it is banned where I live, but my disappointment was that’s all he’s got … the one tool fits all solution he had nothing else to give. So disappointing when the theory of his approach I’m to totally on board with but he lost me at the e collar or prong being the only consequence to everything ! I wish I hadn’t bought it left me feeling so frustrated .
