About this listen

The Demon’s in the Detail

Can a sexy demon really spin straw into gold?

Poe Dupin, raven shifter and thief extraordinaire, is in trouble with a capital ‘T.’ Not only did he get his wing caught in the cookie jar during his latest heist, but his loser stepdad, the alpha, seems determined to run their roost into the ground. And Baltimore is many things, but forgiving is not on the list.

When his stepdad puts the roost in peril, Poe sees no choice but to bargain with Charm City’s only demon, Tommy Tittoti. Rumors are that Tommy eats the souls of those foolish enough to try. Three strikes and you’re out. But really, Poe wasn’t using his soul anyway. And if it saves his roost? Worth it.

Tommy isn’t what Poe expects. Demon - huge, horned, hairy, and scary, right? Nope. Blond, gorgeous, with a bubble butt, and a lilting drawl that beckons Poe to come play. Total hookup-app fantasy material. Even if he is a murder twink.

Poe’s no angel, but Tommy...well he’s more devil than demon. Yet, Poe just can’t seem to keep his feathers out of the fire. As one bargain turns into two, and then a third tragedy strikes the ravens, Poe finds himself falling for a guy who may very literally be the death of him. Or maybe the flames will burn them both.

The Demon’s in the Details is a fast-paced roller coaster of a romance with a guaranteed HEA and lots of steam. Shenanigans include: a gold object that is definitely not a ring, a best friend who’s trigger-happy, and a demon who’s got a few surprises up his, uh, sleeve.

Previously published in the Fables Retold Anthology. Around 60,000 words. No new content has been added.

5+++ Stars!!!

This book was just what I needed! So, I was a little hungover after my last read and I needed something different, so I decided to listen to this book even if it wasn't its turn yet in my reading schedule. Let me tell you... best decision ever!

I absolutely adored Tommy, he was so much fun, and even if we don't get his POV, he wore his heart on his sleeve for everyone but oblivious Poe to see. LOL. And Poe, well, he was definitely my favorite, but how could he not be with how responsible, supportive, sarcastic, self-deprecating, and downright amazing he was? Tommy and Poe were soooo great together, hot and sweet, and everything in between.

I loved Kennedy, Poe's best friend, she was bada**, the twins and Ollie. And I hated Ethan and Brigs with the fire of a thousand suns and was more than happy with their comeuppance. Hahaha

The combination between Meghan Maslow's words and Greg Boudreaux was exceptional. I laughed out loud several times, I found myself crying at others, and I absolutely loved every single moment of this fabulous story. I wouldn't mind reading more in this 'verse, Garrett and Ollie also need a story. Hell, I'll even read Kennedy and Abel's even if I don't read all that much MF any longer.

Definitely recommendable!

I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Tommy was a unique demon who had a rather soft spot for Poe. These two had explosive chemistry - talk about setting the sheets on fire!

Absolutely loved it. The narrator was fantastic - his voice for Tommy was sexy. I would happily listen to this narrator all day long.

Tommy was a unique demon

This was a really great book, full of really well drawn characters and an interesting storyline. It had a good balance of humour and drama and the narrator was excellent. His dramatisation and characterisations brought the story to life. I will definitely put it in my favourites and enjoy listening to it again.

The story and characters are all intriguing and very well developed. I think I even enjoyed it more on my second listen, as I saw the second book is out and just had to give this book another listen before moving on to the second one. Hope this becomes a good and long series as there are multiple characters whose stories I'd love to hear more of.

Loved it from beginning to end

Well thought out , and somewhat predictable, but not boring at all I love that it means something refreshing has been injected. I always get so annoyed with these characters that are too forgiving and kind hearted (like saint level) but that doesn't happen in this book. I love how it evoked emotion but I never wanted to stop listening out of frustration. The writing is funny with the right amount of mature content adding to the story not just a run of the mill fan service feel. Mr Boudreaux's excellence is what brought me here but I stayed because the writting, great combination!

The Demon's in the Details is a standalone paranormal romance (although I hope it becomes a series - fingerscrossed!) which is full of humor, action, and steamy romance. Loosely based on the Rumpelstiltskin fairy tale, Meghan Maslow has created an intricate and fascinating world that takes the well-known fairy tale and upgrades it into a well-crafted and enthralling book. Poe is a raven-shifter who's stuck in an impossible situation: sacrifice everything he holds dear or cave in to the pressure his evil stepfather places on him. When he's thrust between a rock and hard place, the only one Poe can go to help is the cute and adorable Tommy - a demon with deadly powers. From the start, their relationship is more than just a business transaction. The sparks of attraction are instant and strong, but it'll take more than attraction for both men to find their happy ever after.

I adore this book and devoured it in one day. I listened to the audiobook, which was narrated by the talented Greg Boudreaux, and loved it. Greg voiced each character perfectly and put on a masterful performance. This combined with a fantastic story and a well done audiobook production made for an instant five star read and listen.
