Solid military story with outstanding narrator

In line with his other books, it’s a story of a Falklands-like battle. He creates some basic characters and packs the book with moments of action. It’s an excellent story of bravery that doesn’t skip over the human cost of battle. The narrator is fantastic, demonstrating a wealth of voices and uses great accentuation and pacing. The narrator for me really elevated this.

As true to life as ever you will get .

Every soldier takes on a life of their own, the true to life banter and rivalry of the varies arms is laid bare. The comradship and pride in what they do, is brought to life in all its wrore truth. its like being back in uniform.

Thoroughly enjoyable

Again a nice easy listen, great characters but along the same old boys own adventure line and some of the characters come out of the updated forties - but that doesn't actually detract from the overall enjoyment after all that's what the book's all about. All of this is enhanced by a great performance by John Telfer.

This has been a great binge listen. I didn’t want to stop listening to the story as it unfolded. Good narration as well.

Rollicking!

The reader is superb, simply outstanding and the best I'll heard to date. The story is a little obvious, no great shocks or revelations but that doesn't detract at all. Recommended.

A cracking book.

Yet again the third book lives up to the standard of the other two. Each book is a stand alone story so can be listened too in any order, the story’s are superb. As before, the characterisations are wonderful; with you growing attached to them as the story flows.
A great book that will have you extending the sleep timer at least once.
