About this listen
A crippled cargo ship drifts helplessly in the face of an oncoming hurricane-force storm. On board, a passenger whose presence means the world is watching. Only the skill, determination and raw courage of a lifeboat crew and the British military forces despatched to save them offer any hope of survival. But set against the savagery of the Atlantic even that might not be enough....
©2016 Mike Lunnon-Wood (P)2017 Audible, LtdWould you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes I would recommend, simply because it a damned good read...or listen in this case! What did you like best about this story?
This book takes you through the whole emotion of the situation, with highs and lows as big as the Atlantic storm waves!!Which character – as performed by John Telfer – was your favourite?
John NicholsDid you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This story was quite emotional at times, both joyful and very sad.Any additional comments?
An excellent listen, well read and very enjoyable. I will be listening to the rest of the quartet without a shadow of doubtA story of rough seas and bravery beyond the call

Would you listen to Let Not the Deep again? Why?
Yes absolutely because its a remarkable account of men and women putting their lives at risk to save others. Mike Lunnon - Wood writes superbly of the conflict between nature and mans attempts to overcome its forces. "The Cruel Sea" and its power and the combined strength of a hurricane. In fact we did listen to the story twice. What other book might you compare Let Not the Deep to, and why?
Having read/listened now three of Mike Lunnon - Woods books, a fourth to come. Its his amazing ability to be so accurate and descriptive you are taken into the world and conflict completely. What about John Telfer’s performance did you like?
If it were not for John Telfer himself a writer, I may not have even known about Mikes Books. I am sad that MIke died so early in his writing career. John thank you and the way you read those stories is outstanding. I loved the way John made the skipper of the Lifeboat to be a man I would want by my side in times of trouble. If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
No Mercy !Any additional comments?
Please listen or read all four of Mike Lunnon - Woods books. Then read John Telfer's. You will also want to listen to them twice...I hope !I along with my wife help young children to read at their schools. If I could I would love a shorter version of this book for them to read with me.
For those in trouble on the sea

I was entranced from start to finish do much so that I finished it in one go.
The story is credible, well researched and thoroughly entertaining.
I have a huge respect for the RNLI, as a former sailer who has seen them at work, as well as knowing some members of crew, this story was particularly poignant.
Well written, well narrated and presented.
I will be digging into more by the same author.
A little nugget of pure gold.
