Summary

If you want to discover how people with dark personalities work and what it really takes to persuade someone, then pay attention....

Two manuscripts in one audiobook:

  • Dark Psychology: What Machiavellian People of Power Know About Persuasion, Mind Control, Manipulation, Negotiation, Deception, Human Behavior, and Psychological Warfare That You Don’t
  • Persuasion: Highly Effective Manipulation Techniques to Influence People to Willingly Do What You Want Them to Do Using NLP, Mind Control and a Deep Understanding of Human Behavior and Dark Psychology

In part one of this audiobook, you will learn about:

  • The eight laws of human behavior and how manipulative people use these behaviors to their advantage
  • The six scientific principles of persuasion and how a manipulator will use these to persuade anyone to agree with them, seemingly on their own terms
  • Mind-control techniques that Machiavellian leaders and manipulators use to try and bend your reality and keep you at their mercy
  • Manipulative negotiation tactics people use to get you to take their deal while making it seem like it was your idea
  • Nineteen manipulation strategies predators use to lure people into their deceptive games
  • And much, much more!

Some of the topics covered in part two of this audiobook include:

  • Ego: friend or foe? A look at how ego management is an asset in negotiation
  • Don’t say that: what to avoid saying in conversation
  • Nice and effective ways to exert influence
  • How Bruce Lee inspired persuasion concepts
  • Scientifically proven principles of persuasion
  • Seduction as manipulation: Don't be a victim, but use the techniques to influence others
  • And much, much more

Middling

A fairly quick and basic overview of some psychological theories. If you are very new to speaking to humans than this may be of use.

It’s a hard slog

This book of two halves imparts some useful information.

However the voices of the narrators lacked energy and made the listening experience a bit monotonous.

Good book

Good if you want an introduction to persuasion techniques. But not so useful if you already have an advanced knowledge.

A manipulation in its own right

On the fence about this book. At first the book was quite good but then went into Trump bashing in one section and then in the persuasion section shows s left wing agenda basically saying you should be nice and compliant in not so many words.

Superficial content

This was a boring monotonous read. Avoid buying it and wasting a few hours of your time. The reason it’s called Dark Psychology is because It ambiguous with superficial content. It lacks substance, history and articulation. You will constantly hear or read about the ”what or who” but not about the how or why. This author thinks that the techniques mentioned is the only method/way and also fails to recognise the founders of these subjects without reference or bibliography, The content seems to be kept ambiguous, so not to mention the books/authors that go deep into the subjects. I would suggest looking at the index and then find those books that will give more detail in each subject.
