An invaluable book for people living with ADHD
The book is enjoyable and may help many reach the goal suggested by the workbook's subtitle.
The author mixes research and citations with an apparently witty and occasionally intimate tone of writing that engages the reader with periodic interrogations and empathy. The book provides an effective and straightforward way to curb ADHD's negative impact. It recognizes opportunities to reinforce the good traits that thinkers might attract.
The hopeful, optimistic twang that runs through the text is among the text's favorite features. It includes the nonconfrontational, humanistic style.

Very positive and personal guide
Although I'm a clinician who is skeptical about the ADD/ADHD diagnosis, I do appreciate this book and plan to keep it on hand for clients (and myself). Melanie Spencer's approach to describing the condition helps me relate to it - and see how I express many of the characteristics in my own behavior and cognitive experience. I appreciate how Spencer makes the material personal and real while also offering self assessment that aligns with research evidence. If you struggle with attention in any way, this book will offer you something you can use to improve your days, achieve your goals, and improve your relational life.

helpful insights to better support ADHD
This has been a great for understanding how to better support my partner, who has ADHD. I don’t have ADHD myself, so I’ve been looking for resources to help me grasp what he’s going through. I've heard of CBT since I've briefly explored stoicism, so I was curious to see how it’s applied here. I like how CBT in this audiobook is mainly focused on improving communication and challenging negative thought patterns; so much of my partner's time is him being frustrated about stuff but not really being able to properly communicate as to why. Highly recommend this
