About this listen
Persephone is the Goddess of Spring by title only. The truth is, since she was a little girl, flowers have shriveled at her touch. After moving to New Athens, she hopes to lead an unassuming life disguised as a mortal journalist.
Hades, God of the Dead, has built a gambling empire in the mortal world and his favorite bets are rumored to be impossible.
After a chance encounter with Hades, Persephone finds herself in a contract with the God of the Dead and the terms are impossible: Persephone must create life in the Underworld or lose her freedom forever.
The bet does more than expose Persephone's failure as a goddess, however. As she struggles to sow the seeds of her freedom, love for the God of the Dead grows - and it's forbidden.

I know the main character is a trope type naive woman but the whole point is her overcoming that and the fact she never really was weak. She was made to be weak and the whole time had been letting people make her lower than. She develops into herself and you want it for her.
I loved the reimagined Greek gods and overall just found it enjoyable and silly and spicy.
This isn't a serious series. They made me laugh and smile and blush and just overall want the best for Persephone so thats a win from me.
Throughly enjoyable

The narrators voice for Hades irritated me a little so I think this would have been a good duet.
Not sure if I’ll buy the next in the series, but this was a good freebie.
