About this listen

A remote Highland castle. A dark and stormy night. A murder most haunting.

It’s Halloween, and when an elderly billionaire is discovered dead in the locked study of his stately Highland home, DCI Jack Logan and his team must race the worsening weather to get to the scene of the crime.

There, among the victim’s extended family and staff, Jack finds no shortage of suspects. Everyone, it seems, had reason to want the old man dead, and they all have something to hide.

Cut off from backup by the worst storm in decades, and with the cast and crew of a TV ghost-hunting show seriously cramping his style, Jack’s only chance of solving his latest case is by going back to basics.

But the castle’s residents won’t give him a minute to think.

Not even the dead ones....

Tartan Noir meets Agatha Christie in A Dead Man Walking, the 18th book in the number one best-selling DCI Logan Scottish crime fiction series from author JD Kirk.

The usual excellent narration by Angus King but the story itself lacked the depth of the previous books and was a little silly at times. Still worth the read though.

An entertaining yarn

I loved the latest DCI Logan adventure. Proper laugh out loud moments and also big emotional, heart in your mouth moments too. One of my very favourite series

Fantastic

Loved the continuity in the storyline of the characters and can’t wait for the next instalment. Angus King’s narration is superb.

Was looking forward to this latest instalment so much. Excellent narration as usual like listening to a favourite old friend. Story was a bit disappointing with the eccentricities of some of the characters wearing a little thin. A bit of a pantomime version clouding the usual tone of the stories into a more frivolous mode.
Nice for a one off but much prefer the original formula. Nevertheless looking forward to the next instalment already

A little far fetched

I enjoyed the 'Who Dunnit' murder mystery style of this story. It was a fun, refreshing change. This book seemed to set up a couple of stories too, which I'm really looking forward to.
Definitely looking forward to the next Hoon book 👍🏻

Slightly different but still very enjoyable

I have really enjoyed the Logan series by JD Kirk! I was excited at book 18's arrival. Angus King is always a great listen but I have to say how disappointed I have been with this one. The story was weak and resembled previous reads. I cannot stress how much I have enjoyed your previous books but struggled to complete this listen,

Disappointing . Not up to the normal standard. Angus King did his best with the light weight story
