Summary

Jessie Heaton is a fearless, flame-haired computer hacker. Independent and feisty, she’s relied on no one but herself since the age of sixteen.

Working for the Russians, she is finally close to getting the one thing she wants most in life, when she’s stopped in her tracks by the notorious Ryan brothers.

The Ryans are Irish Mafia. They are unstoppable. No one stands in their way. And nothing comes between a Ryan and his family.

That is, until the hurricane that is Jessie crashes into their lives. With a world full of secrets and a past that she can’t outrun, will she be their salvation or their downfall?

Ryan Rule is book one in the New York Ruthless series, a reverse harem, dark mafia romance. It deals with mature themes that may be triggering for some listeners, and it ends on a cliffhanger.

The story itself...

... is quite good. but the female narrator delivers all the lines of other characters except the FMC completly flat. No life whatsoever. The FMC on the other hand gets either the "nonchalant brat" tone or the "breathy desperate" one. Lacking all nuance. Too bad.

Not for the faint hearted

The story is amazing. The scenes are seriously hot. I loved all of the characters, in particular Connor and Shane. The let down for me was the Irish accents. As a rl Irish person I found it hard to listen to an 'Irish' accent that slipped between gypsy Irish, Scottish, Londoners cockney and back to gypsy again. Such a shame. I just don't understand why authors don't get original Irish narrators to tell these stories. That said, I really recommend this book if you like raw and edgy. if you're concerned about the accents opt for the kindle versions and read the story. You won't regret it. Reverse Harem/MMMF/Mafia story.

Enjoyed the book, not the female narrator

The book is hot af, the male narrator has a really good voice, but the female narration is better suited for infomercials than spicy audiobooks.

Best audiobook I've heard

I loved this audio! I was a bit apprehensive when I found out it was one male actor for all four men, but honestly Aaron done an amazing job! Jessie wasn't how I imagined her to sound, I like her voice ok though and I suppose she can't sound like how every single person imagined. The only thing that kind out took me out of it was when the actors voiced the opposite sex. I never understood why they couldn't voice their own character, so Hollie talked Jessies part even if it was from one of the mens perspectives, but this is something that has always irked me about every audiobook. Overall, an amazing edit of my favourite book, and I wait eagerly on the rest!

Average story, terrible Irish accent

As an Irish person, I have been personally offended by how bad the Irish accent is in this audiobook. Struggled to finish it.

Ryan’s are the best.

Completely love it. No words, if the book is amazing the audiobook is exceptional. Can’t wait for the rest of the series.

narration

the narration was absolutely dreadful and ruined the book. the female narrator had such a sarcastic tone while the male narration was unable to maintain an accent.

Decent enough story - female narrator ruined everything

I enjoy Kincaids writing, she can write a very good spicy scene. However, I could not stand the female narration- she has an upbeat, sing song lilt to her whole performance. Her tone doesn't change whether the FMC is making breakfast or being f**ked. I DNF'd this book and am sad I won't be able to enjoy the whole series. Will blacklist this narrator for the future.

Holy Smokes

hearing the Ryan brothers and Jessie come to.life was amazing ! huge congratulations to the narrators who's performance was spectacular. Irish accents are not easy and god the male narrator at one point pulled of 3 different accents in one conversation it was something to hear. I adore this story why choose spicy and full of agnst . I am going to read the rest of the series now and listen again once the next book is out ! incredible Audio book
