Sixteen years ago Officer Charlie Hardwick was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his partner. Today he has been exonerated for the crime and given his life back. In lieu of a massive settlement, he is now a homicide detective with the Chicago Police Department. His partner has her own questionable past. His chief has serious doubts about his innocence. And he has a city full of murders to solve.

Mason Dixon is given a message: His father has been murdered. The man who did it? A rich rum distributor. Now, he wants to find him. And kill him. Caught up in the wrong crowd, Mason Dixon just wants to spend his nights running his bar. He thought he was done with the killings, the late-night assassinations, the espionage, and bloodshed.

All Mason Dixon wants is to mix classy drinks for classy people... Mason owns a bar, and he's not getting any younger. He wants nothing more than to retire in peace, fishing and drinking with the locals. But his past as an assassin is catching up with him. Mason moonlights as an assassin, taking jobs to remove "marks" from the playing field. It pays well, and he's good at it. So when he makes a mistake, things quickly get out of hand and he finds himself racing against the clock to save a life he inadvertently put into danger.
