Madame Markievicz, otherwise known as Countess Markievicz, was an extraordinary woman, well ahead of her times. She was a committed feminist, socialist, republican and a dedicated helper for the poor. She was the first woman Member of Parliament and a Minister for Labour in the first Irish government. Her influence is immeasurable. This is a play that attempts to recall her fascinating life.

A play about the 1916 Rising in Dublin, a seminal moment in the formation of statehood for Ireland. Heroes Michael Mallin and Countess Markiewicz spend their last days together.

Hanna Sheehy Skeffington was a beacon of light in the early 1900s with her campaigns for women’s right to vote and right to education. Hanna was a prolific activist and organiser. She was the only woman to be chosen to be on the provisional government post 1916 Rising, if it had succeeded. She is a legendary figure for Irish feminism. This Play is about Hanna Sheehy Skeffington on hunger strike in Mountjoy. She is joined by James Connolly in Mountjoy prison. In 1913 both were in Mountjoy prison and both went on hunger strike. The people are real and of great historical importance.
