Suddenly, the horse became frightened, interrupting Usayd’s heartfelt recitation. Concerned for his son, Yahya, who was nearby, Usayd paused to check on him, glancing up at the sky. What he saw was astonishing—a canopy of light that seemed to rise and disappear.

While on patrol, Abdullah ibn Muhammad encountered a man without hands or legs, barely able to see or hear, yet continually praising Allah. Intrigued, Abdullah asked what blessings he was so thankful for. The man replied that despite his hardships, he was deeply grateful for the gift of his tongue, with which he could praise his Lord. In need of help, he then requested Abdullah to find his young son, who used to care for him. Abdullah soon discovered the boy had been taken by a wild beast.

In the battle of Dhat Ar-Riqa, an Ansari companion of the Prophet Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) demonstrated incredible devotion and patience. While standing guard with a fellow companion, he was repeatedly struck by arrows from an enemy who had sworn to kill a Muslim. Despite the pain, he continued his prayer, not wanting to interrupt his recitation of the Qur’an. When he finished, he woke his companion, who was shocked by his injuries. The Ansari explained that he was so focused on completing his recitation that he didn’t want to stop until he finished.

A man from the desert follows the Prophet Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in hopes of being martyred for Allah’s sake. After receiving a share of the spoils from a battle, he tells the Prophet that his true wish is to die in battle and enter Jannah. Soon after, the man is struck by an arrow in the exact spot he had pointed to, and the Prophet (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prays for him, witnessing his martyrdom.

When Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was the Khalifah, he met his governor Nafi at Usfan, a valley near Makkah. Umar asked Nafi who he appointed to lead the people there, and Nafi named Ibn Abza, a former slave. Surprised, Umar questioned the choice. Nafi explained that Ibn Abza was well-versed in the Qur’an and inheritance law. Umar then recalled a saying of the Prophet (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

One day, as people passed by the Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he taught them the reward of giving greetings. Each greeting brought more rewards—ten, twenty, and even thirty good deeds! But when someone forgot to greet, the Prophet gently reminded him, saying, "When you come to a gathering, give the greeting. When you leave, give it again. Both greetings are just as important."
