Als schließlich der erste Stein in seine Kanzlei in Earlsraven fliegt, wird Martin klar, dass die Lage ernst ist. Aber wer steckt dahinter? Womöglich jemand, der vor Gericht gegen ihn verloren hat und nun auf Rache sinnt? Nathalie und Louise versuchen fieberhaft, herauszufinden, wer den Anwalt aus dem Weg räumen will. Und auf einmal steht tatsächlich ein Auftragsmörder in seiner Kanzlei und zielt auf ihn.

Die neue Eisenbahn nahe Earlsraven wird eingeweiht - und Nathalie und ihre Freunde dürfen bei der ersten Fahrt dabei sein. Was als fröhlicher Ausflug beginnt, endet allerdings jäh mit einem Mord! Doch wer hat den armen Walter im Tal des Todes an die Gleise gefesselt? Und wieso bricht Jubel aus, als sein Tod bekannt wird? Nathalie und Louise begeben sich auf Spurensuche und finden heraus, dass Walter ein Gegner der Eisenbahn war - allerdings haben eine Menge Leute ein Interesse daran, dass dieser Zug rollt.
