Summary

Please note: This audiobook contains graphic adult content.

Sex, violence, murder, betrayal, revenge and a kick-ass unstoppable heroine with one big Achilles’ heel. That would be Winter. She’s been having kind of a bad week...

Firestorm 2, the plot to mine data from the infamous murder-for-hire website, has been a success. But while Winter’s been held prisoner by Alek after saving his life, GCHQ has been ordering hits to eliminate every contractor on the site – and leaked footage of Alek and Winter together means she’s now public enemy number one.

Michael is driven by a mission; haunted by the memory of Aleksey, he must find Natalya and return Aleksey’s ring to gain some closure. But his goal is hampered by a gruesome billion-pound hit which is suddenly, very publicly, on his head. Still, at least he has Aveline in his corner – unless she’s been lying to him all along.

Brilliantly narrated by the award-winning Ell Potter, the fifth instalment of the Winter series is an electrifying thriller which poses the question: when the good guys are still killers and the bad guys are in love with you, who can you trust?

Can you ever really know what lies in another person’s heart?

What a rush!

I've really enjoyed this series from the start - but this is exceptional. The pacing to the climax is wonderful and the fab narrator Ell Potter just pulls you along! It's really not one to stop in the middle - you just want to devour it from start to finish. I think possibly the best ending yet (although Winter Falling was pretty dramatic) and, Alex, we must HAVE MORE!!!!!

Riveting but frustrating!

Another fantastic adventure in the Winter series, unputdownable as usual. I ended up rationing how much I listened otherwise it would have been over too quickly! The development of the characters is believable and engaging and the weaving together of the sub plots is enjoyable. But I do want to slap Winter every time she walks away from Alec!! And now we're back to waiting for tike next installment.

another good read. I did feel it had a few too many unlikely situations but still worth the read

Superb finale

Assuming it to be the finale, but allowing for another book.
Eitherway, very enjoyable read, with a myriad of plottwists and character shifts.
Love Elle’s performance, but at times it was hard to determine the role that was being read. At times a tad much on the drama, but overall….superb.

Good but getting repetitive

Another good yarn but it is really a replay of what’s gone before. Same baddy, same will they won’t they. It’s really time to bring the whole thing to a conclusion and move on. If the next book has no finality or doesn’t indicate it moves in a different direction such as Winter moving to the dark side or dark Lord comes over to fight crime or one of the 2 gets killed off etc, then this series is at an end for me. Brilliantly read and good writing but the author can only flog the same horse so many times.

Another brilliant Winter book

The combination of Alex Callister’s Winter character and Ell Potters superb narration has me completely hooked. I really hope there is another book on its way.
