About this listen

Family ties. Buried lies. A life on the line.

Detective Sebastian Clifford and his partner Lucinda "Birdie" Bird are about to embark on their most challenging case yet when Lady Angelica Charing tasks them with finding the son she secretly gave away when she was only sixteen.

Time's running out. This long-lost son isn't just a missing puzzle piece; he's the last hope for a life-saving kidney transplant for his dying half-brother. The stakes couldn't be higher.

With the Charing family's reputation on the line, Clifford and Birdie must operate under the radar, cutting through years of concealed truths.

As the deadline approaches, they race to find the missing son and persuade him to make a life-altering choice. Can they solve the case and save a life before time runs out?

Dive into a world of hidden identities and urgent choices in Wake the Past.

I like this series of stories. They are interesting but so far away from my own reality that they are not at all anxiety inducing (although I did dream last night about trying in vane to start a lawnmower which is curious since I don't have a lawn!) Jonathan Keeble is an excellent narrator and I very much enjoy his melodic tones which never jar or cause me to loose track of the story. A great production all round.

An interesting story brilliantly narrated.

I had listened to 1-5 of the series one after another some time ago and had not realised that 6 had been released. Wonderful surprise. I love narrator Jonathon Keeble who is such an amazing performer. He could read the telephone directory and make it interesting. As for the story I already knew the main characters and was delighted to spend some time in their company once more. The synopsis did not inform that the story would unfold into such an absorbing and intriguing tale. My attention never wavered. I am thrilled with the introduction of a new and delightful member to the team. I am really looking forward to the development of this character and how their relationships unfold. There were some emotional moments that brought a tear to my eye along with laugh out loud flashes. Just a couple of regrets. I wish it had lasted much longer and that 7 is not standing in the wings. I am currently in withdrawal.
I can recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a good mystery with continuity of well loved characters.

Another great listen.

It was a fantastic story and well executed and read by the narrator. Is execution of different voices, male and female is fantastic. The only thing I dislike is the shortness of the book.

Great storyline

While I adore a good murder mystery, I found this book a refreshing change. The usual lovely, well narrated characters were embroiled in a different type of mystery. Their search still led to plenty of intrigue and emotion, but in different ways. J thoroughly enjoyed this steadily paced intriguing tale.

A refreshing change!

I enjoyed this story, but found it wasn't as gripping as previous books in the series. still a great listen, and I'm still excited for the next one.
