Summary

My life was perfect until she came along. Norah.

Younger, prettier and about to marry my own ex-husband, they are a walking cliché.

I hate her. I hate them both.

She’s taken everything from me - my husband, my life, my home - but I refuse to allow her to take Cassie, my beautiful daughter. That's a step too far.

Now I’ve discovered that Norah plans to have a baby of her own and that causes me no end of problems. She could destroy everything and reveal my deepest, darkest secrets.

That can never be allowed to happen.

No matter what it costs…

A psychological thriller that will keep you guessing till the end! Perfect for fans of Sue Watson, Nina Manning, Shalini Boland.

Pooor choice of reader!

The story itself was excellent. The characterers well drawn and very good story line. The only down side, was the reader!
I am so sorry to say this, i know she was probably doing her best, but sadly she is not good reader nor can she do a good Scouse acent. However i did like the book.

Too many liars in the story to enjoy

It’s difficult to find affinity with any of the characters when they’re all habitual liars.

Was okay- not my favourite!

Felt that the story was drawn out at the beginning and don’t quite know where it was going. I must admit I got a little confused too. But once I got in to it, I enjoyed it but it wasn’t one of the best between these 2 authors. Didn’t see the ending coming either.

Almost But Not Quite!

I was determined to finish it but didn’t really enjoy it! Drawn out. No real interest in the plot.. Some of the narrators accents were a bit off. .. but I persevered

Exceeded my expectation

So many twists and turns, well written and exceptionally well read. Poor reading can ruin a good book, but I really enjoyed the voice and the pace of reading of this book.

An interesting start with a good performance

Perhaps a little predictable but overall an interesting listen which helps your attention. Excellent performance that was a pleasure to listen too.

Sadly disappointing

I have read all the Sally Rigbys with an absolute passion and enjoyed the one they wrote as Amanda Rigby so I was waiting so excitedly for this one. I pre ordered and counted down the days. Early on I nearly gave up on it because of the narrator. I have never before listened to a book and thought I don’t think I can bear the narrator’s voice anymore, But this time I did. Not her actual voice of course, which is lovely, but the way she read the story. She would be fabulous for children’s stories but was massively irritating in this one, sounding patronising and some of the voices sounded like she was trying to do a comedy voice.
The story I probably would have rated higher but I couldn’t get into it because of the narration and then the hugely disappointing end. Nothing more frustrating than a book that leaves you with more questions.
Sorry Sally, Amanda and Jenny. Sally please carry on your previous series of books!

Awful attempt at accent

Enjoyed the story but distracted by the poor attempt at a Liverpool accent. Vowel sounds should be short! More research required I’m afraid.

Was lost for six hours.

I have listened to over 100 audiobooks including all Sally Rigbys series. Also the two previous collaborations with Amanda Ashby. All excellent. However this was poor. Didn’t like the storyline and terrible narration. Actually couldn’t listen to it while driving as it was so monotonous it put me to sleep. Great ending though. The book could really have been two hours long. Sorry as I’m an avid fan.

Awful narrator and weak storyline

I liked another book by these authors but this one was terrible! It was weak and far fetched and the narrator was awful. She sounded too bright and happy, like a children’s presented. It took away from the storyline and just didn’t fit. She also couldn’t do accents and it was cringey to listen to. Even if she’d been good, the story still wasn’t very good though.

And the ending was stupid and abrupt. Sorry, but I do not recommend.
