What a story. I will say I was nervous as the MMC was arranged to marry the FMC's sister after having having relations with the FMC (he didn't know her name ). The author did a beautiful job around this and made it clean with no icky crossovers or emotions or drama between the sisters. If you love a badass FMC who is an assassin and saves herself, this book is for you. the MMC is a man obsessed with the FMC which I loved

We not only have a romance but family politics that keeps the peace and end wars however some things never go to plan in the Mafia world. There are 2 mysteries to solve from the gold ticket with a letter and who killed Gio's friend who has a dark secret that no one knew about...no spoilers

There is a MAJOR twist that I did not see coming and a cliffhanger that just made me scream WHAT!! A war that everyone thought was over, turns out it was never over...
🎧 Jason Clarke & Romona Master did such a brilliant job bringing Gio & Iseult steamy relationship to life. I had tears in my ears when he sees her scars and feel he fear of begin rejected because of them. OMG the scenes with little Sophie and her Uncle Gio ADORABLE and she is team Iseult & Uncle Gio 🥰
I can not wait for the next audiobook

Between the genders, age range and accents, they had their work cut out for them, but they both rose to the challenge and delivered a performance that was both entertaining and absolutely addictive.
I adored Gio and Iseult's story. After being gifted little snippets in the previous book I knew it would come down to a battle of wills—and it didn't disappoint!
Iseult had her walls built high (you discover the why in this book) but Gio had perseverance on his side.
While sometimes it was a battle of dominance, their chemistry was off the charts!
The banter they shared often made me chuckle and a few times I had to fan myself because the steam was high.
I adored the way that Gio persisted in his chase and the way he tried to look after Iseult (when she would allow it).
The surprises and twists in this story kept me guessing and the nature of their mafia life kept the story interesting.
The ending took me by complete surprise, I did NOT see that coming!
The bonus scenes were another bonus, they were absolute perfection for these two.

I always look forward to a Lilian Harris read for quite a few reasons. Two of them being that I get to read more of her work and sit in awe of her amazing skills, and that those self-same reasons are brought to new and equally as amazing heights by the audiobook adaptation that shortly follows each book's release. Both are their own amazing entity, and this audiobook in particular is one that I have been looking forward to for a short while now.
Spearheading this audiobook adaptation sees the return of a favourite narrator of mine, Jason Clarke as Gio, and new-to-me narrator Ramona Masters as Iseult. I've only had the pleasure of listening to Jason a small handful of times here and there, but he's a cemented firm favourite and I'm glad with this audiobook I can expand upon his work. Ramona, being new to me, was someone I was looking forward to listening for the first time as I do with any narrator I have yet to listen to. Time to see how this pair gets on.
If you're already familiar with the story as I am, you'll now what exactly is coming your way. That said, it is always an expectedly unexpected moment when the story you know is knocked out of the park by the narrators that give it audible life. Lilian's work is outstanding in its own right within its genre, and it's complimented here by the brilliant job that these two narrators have done. I had to pause it quite a few times not because I had trouble or issues listening, but because it was THAT good and a certain part of me blushed SO hard I needed a moment to calm. Powerful performances from both for 'those' parts that we readers love so much.
Compliments to Jason Clarke for embodying everything that I thought Gio could be audibly. His voice and tones are an exact match as to how I heard this character in my head as I read the book, and he brought his own uniqueness to the part. I even listened to quite a few parts of his chapters several times because, well, this girl really enjoyed those parts. You won't blame me when you get to them and you'll know which parts I mean, because you'll be off-the-charts blushing along with me.
Ramona was a welcome addition to this audio adventure, joining Jason in bringing Gio & Iseult's story to life through our ears. I've never found a character match or co-narration pairing to be anything less than spot on for Lilian's books, and Ramona fit in perfectly. Iseult character was a fiery, fierce, equal match to Gio and Ramona couldn't have nailed it any more if she tried. I'm ears-over-headphones in love with her performance and I would love to have her back in a future Lilian Harris audiobook.
Thirteen hours just flew by with a duo that delivered and kept on delivering from the first till the last word. I truly didn't want it to end. From Lilian's writing, to the narration and production value, everything about this can only be described as 'flawless'.
Thank you to all involved for an audiobook that should be in everybody's library!

I really enjoyed the relationship that bloomed between Gio and Iseult. Their chemistry was off the charts. I loved getting both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
I can't wait for the next book in the series Savage Wounds to be released on audio so I can get Kayla and Adriel's story.
Jason and Ramona did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you're looking for a mafia romance, forbidden romance, or romantic suspense.

What is there not love about this book.
If you have been working your way through the series you will be well aware the Gio is a changed man and obsessed with a women names red and women he had a one night stand with and now can’t get her out of his head , he had done everything he can to find her.
When Gio is forced to marry for stop a war imagine his surprise when he realises the women he is set to marry is reds younger sister .
The interaction between Gio and Iseult is 😘. She is strong and knows her own mind but she is fighting her own demons, she fights Gio every step of the way no matter how much he chances after her.
Fabulous narration throughout , the banter back and forth between Gio and Iseult is so well portrayed you need to give this audio a listen
