Summary

A journalist must follow the clues, no matter how far that takes her.

Casey Benedict, star reporter at the Post, has infiltrated the lives and exposed the lies of countless politicians and power players. Using her network of contacts, Casey is always on the search for the next big story, no matter how much danger this might place her in, no matter what cost emotionally.

Tipped off by an overheard conversation at an exclusive London nightclub, she begins to investigate the apparent suicide of a wealthy young British man whose death has left his fiancée and family devastated.

Casey's determined hunt for the truth will take her from the glitz of St-Tropez to the deserts of Libya and on to the very darkest corners of the human mind.

Takes a while to get going

This is more of a plot driven book
The characters all invented to do their part but it doesn’t have much magic as a book or leave you with any sense of wonder.

Promising plot but characters were cliches

I thought the basic story was good but the main characters annoyed me - too glib, got everything they wanted too easily, stereotypes in the newsroom with the main protagonists being loose canons and so much better than everyone else. Just feel it could have been better.

Clunky

The fact I managed 3.5 hours of this audiobook is down to the quality of the narrator. The content? Very poor. Unbelievable characters, cliche clanking in at every turn. Avoid.

woeful

totally struggled to stick with it but I did out of curiosity mainly. you could have written it beginning to end in one chapter. goodness knows how they managed to string it out in so many hours.
obviously I don't recommend it.

a lecture in story form

Not a thriller, a thinly disguised lecture on the evils of wealth with little to maintain any interest
