Summary

"They’re lying," my little stepson whispers, his blue eyes shining with tears as I tuck him into bed for the first time. "They think I’ve forgotten, but I remember everything. I know my mummy is still alive."

My best friend warned me that it was too soon to marry Edward, a widower with an adorable but troubled little boy. She said we were moving too fast. But all I could see was a kind, loving man, struggling with grief, who needed my help.

Yet as storm clouds gather above our small wedding ceremony, my hopes and dreams fall apart. None of my husband’s family turns up to support us. Instead of a honeymoon, we have a quiet night in. My wedding bouquet is placed on his first wife’s grave. And then my new stepson tells me he’s sure his mother is still alive.

What does Noah remember, and why is his father trying to make him forget? Have I been completely wrong about my husband? What happened to the woman who came before me, and how far will he go to stop me finding out the truth?

An utterly gripping, twisty psychological thriller, perfect for fans of Before I Go to Sleep, The Girl on the Train and Gone Girl.

Very enjoyable

Another great page turner Jess Ryder - and i very much enjoyed the narration.

Should you marry someone after just 7 months of knowing them? If this book is anything to go by then definetly not!!

The characters were all realistic and beliveable, even if Lily was a tad naive!

a total page turner with a great twist at the end.

wonderful

a friend told me about this book and boy I am glad she did it was a fantastic listen did the whole book in a day the tension you could feel the narration was fantastic my only criticism would have been a slightly better ending but to say anything else would give it away . Going to find the next from this author

Fantastic .

I absolutely loved this book from the second I started reading it. It kept me hooked and intrigued from start to finish. The narrator also has a wonderful voice, which we all know just makes the book that much more special.

Absolutely rubbish

I’m raging I actually used a credit on this book and now I can’t return it. I probably listened to 2 hours or less and it’s utter crap! The narrator has a terrible, mundane voice. The story is boring and predictable. Don’t waste ur time 🤦‍♀️

Not her best.

I found this book very long and drawn out. Not Jess Ryder's best offering. I was not gripped and found the story very unbelievable.
Ploughed on to the end, but I felt, for me, this was a waste of credit. Sorry!
