About this listen
DS George Cross delves deep into the world of dirty politics in this Bristol detective series perfect for fans of Peter James and Joy Ellis.
At first glance, the murder of Peggy Frampton looks like a burglary gone wrong. But DS George Cross, with his meticulous methods, thinks otherwise. The victim, a former mayor of Bristol, is now an online influencer whose forthright opinions attract the kind of attention that most people would like to avoid.
There's no shortage of suspects. Cross's investigation will lead him from Peggy's unfaithful husband to her gambling-addicted son, to a scorned former lover with a grudge. But she also has political enemies in her past.
Cross will have to navigate a dark maze of seedy connections to find the truth–but can he do it before the killer strikes again?
The Politician is a part of the DS George Cross thriller series, which can be read in any order.
“I am insanely in love with George Cross, a perfect detective for our time and for all time” STEPHEN FRY
“Sullivan has given us a British detective for the 21st century who will be hard to forget” DAILY MAIL

Brilliant
Love the characters, the Asperger Syndrome is inspired. The story isn’t to bloody but complicated enough to keep you guessing. I’ve downloaded all 6 titles now and can’t stop listening. It’s different and unusual and I love all the books I’ve listened to so far!

Another enjoyable chapter in George Cross’s life.
Slow even pace throughout the story, gradually working out who is the murderer, always a surprise as such but beautifully bought to conclusion.
The introduction of new characters I enjoyed and hopefully they will remain. The same as George’s private life, been a bit of a tease through the series , now concluded in a gentle and in keeping manner.
Looking forward to next in the series .

DS Cross Does Not Disappoint
Another gem for the hand of Tim Sullivan. I just love the way the story winds round all the characters so you think each one is guilty of something if not the actual murder. I am definitely addicted to DS Cross and cannot wait to listen to the next book.

Read this one ‘ out of sequence ‘ ( not sure how that happened ) …… another brilliant book !
Have read the series up to date now — and hope the upcoming title will be on audible also .
Storyline was so well done and I didn’t guess the conclusion in any way ! Thoroughly enjoyable series which -I shall probably listen to again , as there are such intriguing elements to each book . Many thanks for hours of listening enjoyment .

Did it again!
The best yet, a fab story line with a great twist and George learning emotional intelligence. What a lovely, developing character.

loving the characters, excellent narration
I am working my way through this great series and enjoy getting to know the characters. This story not only works an intriguing murder investigation but also shines a light on George Cross' personal life. It is engaging and moving in equal measure. First class narration too, with the voices of the characters adeptly distinct.
Brilliant all round series, but best enjoyed in sequence.

A great series
I’m really enjoying this series. The characters are great, the good and the bad.
I rarely get emotional with books, but this one made me cry at the end.
I’m on to the next one now!

burgulry
good story. I'm listening to these in order but I'm not sure I can listen to the narrator, one more time, saying BURGULRY. aaaaaaargh.
I just hope the isn't a BURGLARY in the next story.
