Summary
A reincarnated soul who remembers his previous life’s happiness and heartache...
Quint is a Player. Unlike most of society who restart with a blank slate after they die, Players make the choice to reincarnate with their memories fully intact. He’s using his past-life knowledge to make his way in a new world, and he’s taking full advantage of it to help him find someone he’s lost.
In their past lives, Quint and Leo were in love. In the afterlife, they made a pact that when they were reborn into the next life, they would find each other again. Except Leo doesn’t seem to be keeping his promise. Running out of leads, Quint turns to his last option, an exclusive, mysterious app where lost souls like him can reconnect with their past lives: The Player’s Lounge.
But what he finds is not what he expects...
'The Player’s Lounge' is the debut novel from prolific M/M audiobook narrator Dan Calley.

Original and very enjoyable book narrated by the author
Fantastic debut novel from a beloved narrator - what could be better!
I loved this book! On very many levels, one of them being the original following of the plot. It had everything - a little mystery that kept me guessing, a love story, lots of good hearted humour, lots of stunning British phrases and locations (which I miss so much in so many novels these days, we need more British authors!) but more importantly for me (because this part was that sang to my heart the most) - spirituality and profound moments. I love it when this is achieved in romance novels and Dan Calley has left me with a pleasant surprise.
It’s an original book that touches spiritual elements perhaps known to many - but weaved into a unique plot line that takes you in and holds you until the end. Highly recommend and the audio version is absolutely fantastic! I loved all the different accents, Harry in particular - yessss!
Congratulations to the author and everyone who have been part of the process of making this such a success.

Not what I was expecting
I loved this audible. I hadn’t read the book, but the voice sounded great, so started listening to the whole thing. The accent are on point, the story keeps you on your toes and a great twist at the end with an original plot. Really looking forward to what Dan does next!

A unique story
I own both the ebook and audiobook, so was able to immerse myself in this story. It also meant that I finished the reading/listening in just over 48 hours instead of the several days it takes if I listen alone. Wow! I loved the whole experience and can't wait for more in this unique adventure. The writing is excellent and well edited, so no pesky errors to interrupt my enjoyment.
In some ways, this book feels more like an introduction to the idea of Players and Reboots. I did realise quite early on what the deal is with the 4 main characters and couldn't wait for it to be sorted out. While there is romance, it does take a sideline to the story playing out. Book 2 now please! Oh...and I hope we have more of Harry!
Dan Calley is a seasoned audiobook narrator, and one of my favourites. He didn't let me down with the narration of his own book. 5 stars all around.

Great book and of course fab narration
It was interesting to read the first book by a narrator whose work I love - I thought the story had a great premise, and was of course narrated skilfully. Wouldn't have minded if it was a bit longer, though! ;)
