About this listen

He'll die without touch.

As a necromancer, Shae loses a little more of himself every time he uses his magic. Always cold, always touch-starved, the only thing that helps is human contact. But that's hard to come by when those same dark powers scare everyone away from him. Nobody likes a necromancer.

Especially a paladin of the Radiant Order.

Arthur's still bitter and broken after his last lover stabbed him in the back, and the last thing he needs is another brush with evil. When he agrees to escort the wandering necromancer north, he's just doing a public service. But he never expected Shae to be so clingy. Or distractingly attractive.

Shae has never felt an aura as warm and safe as Arthur's. He craves the man's touch—and more. But everyone he's ever known has left him, and it's just a matter of time before Arthur leaves him too.

Assuming the soul-stealing monsters don't kill them first.

Contains mature themes.

This was expertly written and narrated. I listened to it in one sitting and was held enthralled throughout. I didn’t want to pause it at all.

Brilliant

Story is ok, rather simple. But the narrator performance is absolutely terrible! I had to listen on 1,5 speed and still it was too slow to get rid of those long pauses. He pauses often, for a long time, you can hear swallowing and loud taking breath or sometimes shuffling.

Dreadful narrator performance

This was a cute story. A touch starved cold necromancer and a portable sunlight touchy feels paladin.

The production was uneven and it didn't flow well enough. However , the narrator still did a good job of portraying these characters.

Necromancer x Paladin

A nice fantasy with some quite hot moments. I did not enjoy the frequent pauses the narrator takes which at times are long enough for the start of consideration if the book was paused just as the next sentence picks up, it most ruins the pacing of the book at times.

Interesting book, unfortunate recording

Well written with an original and interesting storyline. Hopeful and beautiful with likeable characters. Would love to hear more about these two chars, but understand that the rest of the series follows others.

The narrator was unfortunately quite uneven. Sometimes good but sometimes really annoying. Making a dot last for like 2-3 seconds are far to long and makes the story disconnected and disjointed. Pushing the speed up a bit helped somehow.

lovely story, uneven narration

So I’m a little conflicted. I did enjoy it, I did. But I also didn’t love it. I might have had higher hopes than I should have. I like stories about necromancers, but I’m starting to feel they all follow the same pattern. I enjoyed the story and the concept, and I will probably continue the series.

It was an enjoyable listen
