Summary
From the author of the Amazon best-selling Broken World series comes an exciting new zombie apocalypse series....
When Regan was a young girl living in the small town of Altus, OK, Kellan was just her brother’s best friend. Then the virus came, turning the world’s population into zombies, and he became so much more. They were only kids, but he saved her. Watched over her. Kept her alive. And he’s been doing the same thing every day since.
After living the apocalypse for nine years, Regan thought they’d experienced every kind of loss and terror imaginable. But when a new group starts wreaking havoc in the Oklahoma wastelands where they live, Regan and Kellan are faced with a new set of horrors.
When they cross paths with a teenage girl, offering to help seems like the right thing to do. But Regan and Kellan soon discover that lending aid to the girl very well could lead to their undoing.

Great Zom-Poc ... a must listen!
A varied array of characters to get your teeth into and go on a rollercoaster journey with... Yet another great offering from Kate. L. Mary, she doesn't dissapoint. The narration is on point, just enough when needed and not overly dramatic. 5☆'s all round loved it!!!

more love story than apocalypse
this is a first for me hearing a women narrating and an apocalyptic zombie novel too but I do my best not to make pre judgements and dive on in, to start I must say heather Firths Narration is very pleasing to the ears and as the story is based more around the female character Regan I found it a perfect pairing. my only personal niggles for me is this is more of a love story set in an apocalyptic scene then the hordes, blood, guts and gore I'm used too. but if you are new to apocalyptic books this is a good starting point an I'm looking forward to the next instalment.

Zombies and Brothers Best Friend Romance.
I received this book via a promocode and this is my voluntary review.
Book number one of the Oklahoma wastelands series.
Regan and Kellan were kids when he made the promise to her brother that he would protect her, for 9 years since the world fell apart they have grown up in Shelter alongside the others in their group. Regan has been noticing her feelings for Kellan this past year are becoming more intense... (kiss her already!) Kellan is now 24 and he's fully aware of how nicely his best friend Mats younger sister grew up.
They go out on a supply run, soon people start hearing rumors of dangerous individuals attacking groups using hordes of the dead and later they find out they are hunting for immune survivors... keen to stay out of the drama Regan's group doesn't have much of a choice when Harper ends up on their doorstep needing help.
This story has it all and those who love the walking dead will adore this story.

Fabulous story!
This series is definitely a must read/listen. The author has a wonderful way of spinning a amazing storyline. The plot is very believable with a lot of twists and turns. (If this happened in real life I don’t think most of us will survive.) This book is so great that it leaves me wanting more. I hope this series will continue! I would love to listen to what happen in the next book.
I narrator does an excellent job with the characters, which makes them come alive. The way he narrator’s make the emotions feel as though you are experiencing them yourself. I have listen to numerous amounts of narrators and have my favorites of course and Heather Firth is definitely on the top of my list.

Romance that Survives Zombies
If you've read/listened to this author's Twisted series, then you'll find that you recognize the world that this book is set in. Do yourself a favor and start with the bonus short story at the end of the audio, it starts about an hour or from the end of the book and then restart from the beginning, if you like to listen to things in order. I like that we got to see a different perspective from people who didn't live in the post apocalyptic cities, this is from the perspective of people who have survived on their own as a smaller group and who didn't depend on the government. Also, love the romance that is written, it is a friends to lovers and it is great. The entire story is well written and I found that I liked how the group formed a bond. Loved the story!
The narrator gave a wonderful performance that was a perfect fit for the characters and this post apocalyptic story. She also narrated the Twisted series and it was cool to see that she got to narrate this non related spin off. She is able to give our female main character a voice that provides depth to the character's personality through her tone. Great job!

familiar feel of a broken world in here
i was kindly given this book my kate in exchange for this review
gerat to see back to one of the better narrators though i still have her placed at number 3 in kates readers,i was struggling to engage with this book till i got to the bunker and bikini part had feel of axe, angus etc from broken world ( of which we need more of the series here on audible, hint hint)
it enticed me more into this book and seems to be great start to this series,i would like to see more zombie action at the start but thats just me.

just wow ...wonderfully written and compelling
This is the second book I have read by the author Kate L Mary. I have read/listened to Collision in the past, but this is completely different in terms of style and genre but nonetheless just as brilliant in a different way.
This book certainly provides a great starting base to a new and exciting series.
This is a completely different genre to what I usually enjoy reading etc but after enjoying 'collision' so much I felt compelled to give this a go . I am so glad that I did. What I love about this book is that it is not just your average run of the mill zombie apocalalyptic storyline that has been overdone a million and one times . Kate L Mary really works hard on her descriptions and you actually feel a part of the story whether its describing the surroundings or building the relationship between the two main characters. I adore how the romantic relationship grows and feel that it does at a great pace. The narrators voice is very pleasant and easy on your ears. I cannot emphasise enough how much I enjoyed this novel. I was given this book by the author /narrator in return for an unbiased review

Amazing!
This story caught my attention from the first second, and managed to keep it! Listened to it over 2 days, but it would have been 1 day if it wasn't for that pesky need to sleep. The focus is not on zombies, although there are some. The love story feels believable but not too overwhelming.
The narrator did an amazing job, and her slight Canadian accent truly made this an enjoyable listen. I can't wait to listen to the second book in the series!
