About this listen

You follow the hidden creek towards a long-forgotten house. They call it Keepsake, a place full of wonder...and danger.

Locked inside the crumbling elegance of its walls lies the story of the Butterfly Summer, a story you've been waiting all your life to hear. This house is Nina Parr's birthright. It holds the truth about her family - and a chance to put everything right at last.

A really nice story which has more substance that I initially thought. I loved it. I hoped what I heard in the epilogue was true and was so happy it was.

Beautiful

storyline struggled at first to follow the story and what was going on but I did enjoy it in the end and with a nice ending. The narrators were very good with the voices they used for different characters.

Loved loved loved this book. Stories through the generations are a firm favourite of mine. How the ancestors lived, loved and suffered through to current day people who live now. The surrounding characters that interact with the principal characters. Brilliant. Read beautifully too. I play these audible books while I’m at work and throughly enjoyed going to work this week. What more can I say x

First Harriett Evans book

Found both narrators irritating! Could have been more enjoyable without the repetition of details of relationships & feelings. Not for me - disappointed.

Very complex story - difficult to follow at times

I loved listening to this book. the story was interesting and kept me entertained with several unexpected twists and turns. The reading was clear and I loved that the different parts were red by different people.

Interesting story

l am afraid l ended up reading some bits twice, due to me falling asleep as l was reading it in bed. My fault entirely, but l got confused, hence the lower score, although if I had been able to read it while I had the attention to absorb it properly,it might have got a full score.

Read it quickly to get the best out of it.

I'm always disappointed when the narrator attempts to do the accents, unfortunately the dodgy American and 'terribly posh' interpretation (which is constant for the characters) made it difficult to get into, i'm surprised they didn't ditch the accents. It's a shame as its a good story. I'm midway through but tempted to read the book instead.

Interesting storyline but probably best to read rather then listen

It was an interesting story- a love story type saga that spanned generations. The voice of the younger narrator was irritating however- rhyming 'book' with 'suck'?

Good story- childlike narrator.

A bittersweet and beautifully told story. Read with depth of the characters. An intelligent and enjoyable listen.
