Summary
Lucas has big plans. He wants to graduate, go to law-school, and become an advocate for omega rights. To accomplish all that, though, there's a secret he needs to keep - no one can ever discover that he’s omega. So far, everything’s gone to plan, until he finds himself rooming with the hottest alpha on campus.
At first glance, Adam seems to have it all. He's an alpha, a star player on the college football team, and heir to his parents' extremely successful business. His future is secure, except it's not the future he wants. He's not interested in their money or the willing omegas with whom his mother would love to set him up. What he is interested in is his new roommate, though he knows his chances are slim. Lucas is a beta after all, and beta males are rarely interested in other men. Still, he has to try his luck, even if it means disappointing his parents.
A drink too many at a frat party leads to a night of passion and unexpected consequences for both young men. While Lucas fights to save the career he’s always dreamed of, Adam fights to save the family he never knew he wanted. And they learn that, together, all battles can be won.

So Good
Adam and Lucas story is a really great way to unwind, I make no secret that I love these two authors and this didn't disappoint me at all. John Solo once again gave this such depth each character came to life. Both MCs have problems but their chemistry is off the charts, another Audible that I will be listening to again, definitely recommended.

Unconventional Alpha and Omega Romance
I enjoyed listening to this story. I am selective with mpreg stories, and this Roommates was a good pick.
The story touches a lot of societal serious issues, stereotypes and society’s expectations of alphas, betas and omegas. The conflict of the story was realistic & not far-fetched.
Lukas annoyed me in some parts. I wanted to shake some sense into him, but I also understood where he was coming from. And I just love Adam. I loved him even more when he fought for their future together. And I love that the whole story was not drawn out, that there was a conflict resolution and HEA without it being dragged out too long.
John Solo’s narration was just perfect. And I love Ann-Katrin’s nod to Mr. Solo with the name she gave the baby. 😉

So Much Fun, John Solo is Wonderful!
My second book by Ann-Katrin Byrde and this one is just as much fun!
Roommates is listed as being part of the Oceanport Omegas universe, but I didn't have any trouble enjoying this one as a standalone.
Ann-Katrin Byrde has laid down an interesting Omegaverse. There are alphas, betas, and omegas, as well as males and females. I enjoy getting this variety in the culture and the impact that creativity can add to the stories.
The audio is performed by John Solo who does a wonderful job with these characters. His wide variety of voices suits this cast perfectly (the one he uses for Adam is adorable).
Light on angst, a super sweet romance, and an interesting storyline, I'm looking forward to exploring the Oceanside Omegas series.

Perfect in-between story
Ann- Katrin Byrde did a super job. This story takes place between the Oceanport Omega's and Second Chances series and was a great story. John Solo did a fantastic job with the narration.
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Sweet
It’s no secret that A/B/O is not a first choice but when it comes to a very small selection of authors I will make an exception. Ann-Katrin is one of those authors.
In Roommates we get to experience a very progressive approach to the alpha/Omega dynamic. From the start we know that the characters are both quite progressive because they don’t want to go along with societies expectations of their labels. We get to experience the strong, powerful and intelligent Omega who doesn’t dream of babies and homemaking. We get to experience the soft and sweet Alpha who doesn’t care about societies expectations or his parents demands.
Ann did a really great job bringing these characters together, progressing the story along and building the suspense. Much like love does, this story creeps up on you and before you know it you are hooked! I really enjoyed the ending too, because for the progressive couple of course they wouldn’t have a typical experience in their lives but listeners get the HEA they crave from this story. And it’s a sweet HEA to boot.
John solo blows me away again with a fantastic performance. As always he excels at bringing the written word into a moving picture in your mind. I know if an audiobook is done by John to expect it’s going to be great!

Great story, great audio performance!
Roommates is a really sweet story about Lucas, an omega pretending to be a beta, and his sexy alpha roommate, Adam. One night they finally give into their attraction for each other and Lucas ends up pregnant. The story is so much more than that simple statement.
Watching their relationship develop as they come to terms with Lucas being pregnant was a really good and touching story. I felt sad for Lucas that his being an omega was going to jeopardize his plan to become an attorney so he can advocate for omega rights. I was pleased with how Adam reacted and handled the news of Lucas’ pregnancy.
There’s a reason that John Solo is on my list of favorite audiobook performers. The different voices he uses for the characters in this book make it easy to distinguish who is speaking and I just love listening to him perform. He doesn’t just read the book, he acts it out and brings the characters to life.
A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me at my request but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.

Love is love
This is a fun quick listen. The story is about two roommates who find themselves in a situation they did not expect to ever happen and how they handle that. This story has of course a HEA as to be expected by this writing duo. Narration by John Solo was excellent as as expected from this amazing narrator.

The rights of an omega!
Why hide behind a Beta mask? Omegas don’t have the same privileges even if they all deserve it. So he’s hiding his scent but not his true self. I like that the Alpha in the story is understanding and ever so loving. They make a super cute couple.

All It Takes Is One Mistake
The Roommate is part of the Oceanport Omegas/Second Chance universe, but it can be read as a standalone very easily. This is an omegaverse book with Alpha/Beta/Omega tropes and mpreg. I suggest reading this book after reading all the books in the Oceanport Omegas series but before you read Second Chances.
Lucas is an omega who’s been masquerading as a beta most of his life. A freak twist of fate has him falling into bed with his alpha roommate. The consequences of that night forces Lucas and Adam, his alpha roommate, to make difficult choices for their future. This book was really interesting and it helped to flesh out the Oceanport Omegas universe even more.
