Summary
The Emperor is enraged. Primarch Magnus the Red of the Thousand Sons Legion has made a terrible mistake that endangers the very safety of Terra. With no other choice, the Emperor charges Leman Russ, Primarch of the Space Wolves, with the apprehension of his brother from the Thousand Sons home world of Prospero.
This planet of sorcerers will not be easy to overcome, but Russ and his Space Wolves are not easily deterred. With wrath in his heart, Russ is determined to bring Magnus to justice and bring about the fall of Prospero.

Twisting story
A great example of 40k including multiple points of views in the universe. This one was a great listening.

Dan Abnett us great as always
Engaging story even as a fan who came into this not expecting to like the Space Wolves. Gareth Armstrong never disappoints.

There are no Wolves on Fenris
Absolutely fantastic story, I admit to maybe being biased in terms of the Space Wolves being my favourite legion, I thoroughly enjoyed the perspective of the story being told through Hawser, a very clever twist when I comes to the Space Wolves and their love of a good story.
My only criticism is how little there was on Prospero, although if that is something that you wish to know more about, a Thousand Sons gives a more detailed account.

Review
The story was exquisite, and Dan Abnett's writing was astonishing. My main complaint is Gareth's voicing of some specific characters but his narrating voice was good.

Seeing the human side of the wolves
There are no Wolves on fenris or so the saying goes.
Dan Abbnet knocked this out the park on this occasion and is one of the best heresy books of the series

over hyped?
I feel that this was over hyped - while the fluff content was great, there wasn't enough detail during the route of prospero to dictate such a lofty reputation.

another epic saga!
a brilliant and entrancing story. it is interesting to see the difference in the wolves between the 30th and 41st millennia. I'd love to read a follow on to this where Hauser is resuscitated in the 41st millenium, and possibly meets Guilliman :D
