About this listen

A Necrons audio.

Trazyn the Infinite and Orikan the Diviner are opposites. Each is obsessed with their own speciality and their rivalry spans a millennia. Yet together, they may hold the secret to saving the necron race....

Listen to it because: explore a story told across the millennia that delves deep into a pair of fascinating necron characters, their relationship and their plans for the galaxy.

The story: before the being called the Emperor revealed himself, before the rise of the aeldari, before the necrontyr traded their flesh for immortal metal, the world was born in violence. Even when they inhabited bodies of flesh, Trazyn the Infinite and Orikan the Diviner were polar opposites. Trazyn, a collector of historical oddities, presides over a gallery full of the most dangerous artefacts - and people - of the galactic past. Orikan, a chronomancer without peer, draws zodiacs that predict and manipulate the future. But when an artefact emerges that may hold the key to the necrons’ next evolution, these two obsessives enter a multi-millennia game of cat and mouse that ends civilisations, reshapes timelines, and changes both forever. As riddles unwind and ancient secrets are revealed, the question remains: will their feud save the necron race or destroy it?

Written by Robert Rath. Narrated by Richard Reed.

Astounding

I went into this book being a bit dubious. A book about Necrons? How could that be good? I was VERY pleasantly surprised!
Quite a bit of comedy, but still incredibly grimdark.
Loved it!
I wholeheartedly advise you give this a read if you are wanting something amazing and different from the typical 40k novels.

Far beyond my expectations

This book is wholly underrated and is one of the best science fiction I've ever had the pleasure to experience. The topics, concepts, and contexts are marvelously explored in an intricate and poetic perspective that redefines your outlook on the immortal universe.

Excellent

Best book I've ever read/listened to. It spans over eons with excellent character development and content. It does require you to have a basic understanding of the wh40k universe. I would recommend watching a few lore videos on youtube about the necrons before reading this book. Check out Luetin09, or if you have adhd, Majorkill.

firenemies at their best

both charakters gets thuroly explored and natrualy its a necron-centered book.

minor guest apetances from: eldari, old ones (yes!), necrontyr, orks, humans (space marines and imperial guard), drukari and tyranids.

Two old necrons gighting

Really great story about 2 aeon old necrons fighting over a secret. The story is light and fun to listen to. it becomes more serious but never loses the fun of this rivalry. narration is excellent and the characters really come alive. A high recommendation from me.

Great find, worth a listen!

Great insight into the Necrons in many ways. The performance is top notch and had me hooked. The only negative, the art work does not do it justice!

basically a 40K buddy cop story

back in the day I got into 40k via the dawn of war games, during its 2nd expansion called "Dark Crusade" the necrons were introduced and basically were emotionless terminators that had an Egyptian aesthetic, now we get to see necrons with personality and honestly it works. 10/10
