Like many girls, I too used to dream of fairytales.

This book is addictive. There’s brutality that will shock you but oh how the revenge is so sweet. I really enjoyed this book. The performance is great and there’s a harshness that intrigues me.

This book was so incredibly attention grabbing and encompassing. I definitely felt like this was a fantastic story after all was said and done. But I could also understand the trigger and taboo content warnings. Luckily for me, I have very few triggers that would stop me from reading a book, but I can fully admit this one definitely had some super dark and questionable moments. I am a huge fan of dark romance though, so this one totally did it for me. There were a few moments when I felt like the passage of time was a little off. It seemed like not much time had passed while in the middle of things, but then the next thing you knew, weeks or months or years had passed, and it didn’t quite seem to match up with where we last were in the middle of the action. But honestly, that was my only complaint in the story/plotting of this book. The character building was great, and I felt like this new to me author did a fantastic job with giving so many characters their own personality. Not just the leading lady, but all of her men felt like uniquely different individuals no matter how much or little we got of them. And this was the kind of book that started out getting your attention and then tied everything together with a perfect ending, the cherry on top of course with the narration. I felt like both narrators did a great job and gave absolutely solid performances. The only thing I could have hoped for or wished would be different was my own personal preference for duet narration instead of dual. I hope this author puts more books on audio since that is my primary format for book consumption and I rarely have the time to enjoy a book any other way. I would certainly like to check out more of her work though.

Poisoned Throne by Nikita is a dark reverse harem romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Ash Kingsley and Benjamin Sands.

This is the first book of Nikita's that I have read it and won't be my last. I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I loved the relationship that bloomed between Adelaide, Maxcen, Carter, Blaze, Cage, Declan, Silas, and Daemon.

I really enjoyed that we got Adelaide, Maxcen, Carter, Blaze, Cage, Declan, Silas, Daemon, and Ravanna's points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I originally read the book when it was first released and was so excited when I saw that it was coming to audio. Ash and Benjamin did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you're looking for a dark romance, reverse harem romance, forbidden romance, or modern-day fairytale retellings.

This was not what I was expecting with this book but I'm not mad.
A loose retelling of Snow White, this is a dark RH with triggers for some so beware.
I enjoyed the suspense and mystery in this story. The steam was next level with 7 men and one FMC. It also contains multiple MM scenes if that's your jam.
I liked Adeline's strength. Everything she goes through and not breaking is amazing.
This was my first listen/read by Nikita and it won't be my last. I look forward to checking out more of her stories.

A very dark Snow White RH retelling. Overall the story was ok but I wasn’t a fan of the FMC. I know her life was horrible but there wasn’t anything believable or relatable about her. If you like dark dark stories with blood etc and are a RH fan you may like this one but not my cup of tea

This book has themes from a few well-known stories, but it's heavily based on Snow and her seven assassins.

It's very insta love, high spice, and intriguing, but slow plot. The ending was very rushed. But if you are looking for a spicy read, this one is for you.

This is a very dark listen and there are some pretty brutal scenes throughout so check your triggers. As a retelling, I enjoyed the various nods to the original fairytale; especially the take on the mirror which I thought was really clever. Ravenna was the stand out character for me as she is just so unapologetically evil and I enjoyed Ash Kingsley's portrayal.

I did struggle to connect with Addy a little but this was largely due to there being so much going on and her relationships with the MMCs overshadowing her rise to becoming a mafia queen. The pacing starts off slow but becomes a little rushed towards the end and there wasn't a great deal of time left for character development between the spice and the mafia plot. It is a dual recording and there are POV's for the male characters (Benjamin Sands does a great job jumping between the characters) however as there are seven of them I did find the balance was a little off and some of them were interchangeable with the exceptions of Max and Carter.

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read

A twist, a very dark twist to the Snow White story. The princes is the heiress to the mafia throne, only evil stepmother has sinister plans for her. His torturers become her saviors. It’s a great listen. I enjoyed it and got frustrated by it. The best combo.

Loved this take on the fairytale Snow White I enjoyed every aspect of this book. Adeline was a compelling character that got stronger as the book went along. The seven guys whom fell for her had compelling and harrowing stories. This was my first book by this author and I do not think it will be my last looking forward to reading more stories by her.
