because the narration was so terrible I couldn't listen to it. I also can't read it due to an eye condition so I guess I'll never know. The premise sounded interesting.

To review this, i had to play with the volume off! As i ‘have not listened to enough ‘ to write a review. THAT THE POINT!! I couldnt listen to it, the narrators voice was terrible!!! As soon as she started talking, i wanted to switch off. But i tried to see if i could get used to it, as sometimes you can get used to a….not too pleasant voice, narrator. Think i lasted a few paragraphs, on low…very low… no idea what the story was like, sorry! And this review may not be allowed, but i would think authors would have a say on who speaks their words!? LISTEN BEFORE YOU BUY! I often do, but not this time. Never again!

These books are brilliantly entertaining, the narrator is fabulous.

Jolene is a shapeshifter whose lost all her powers thanks to a curse, but gained the ability to talk to animals, including spiders and flies.
She can't admit to this because apparently everyone would then know she was a shapeshifter (which would be a bad thing) so she has to pretend to be psychic instead. She's not always very nice to the animals she talks to which annoyed me a bit but on the whole the stories are funny and extremely well woven together.

This boxset is the entire saga of Jolene, Peter the police officer and Daisy his canine partner. It's not just fabulous, it's also excellent value.

Totally recommended.

Love this series. Normally I write a review for each book in a box set but with this box set you have the complete series, that's eight exceptional stories that are simply magical and it would take you hours to read my review. So instead I am just going to say each book continues on from the last with a case solved in each book and a long running mystery that runs throughout, it is like sitting back and enjoying one long book written by a master of her craft. Each book is entering and packed full of delightful characters that you can't help but love, especially the snarky police dog Daisy and her relationship with both Peter and Jolene. There are far to many great characters to pick a favourite from talking dogs to bear shifting vets.In the last book we even have a cross over with the authors other series (Spells and Caramels) which was a lot of fun and a great way to round up the series. Each mystery is very different from the last and will keep you up all night listening. This author is one of my favourites and this series is an excellent example of why. A must read or listen for everybody.

story was I think engaging and suspect that as books progress characters would develop and gain depth. unfortunately I couldn't get to the end. the narration was so monotone and sounded ai generated. not sure if a recording or editing issue. not for me...

A great series in a complete book box to enjoy Jolene's and her friends adventures with the help of a handsome police officer and his wll trained but a bit grumpy trained dog. You will fall in love with the characters and will support them in their journey to happiness and love. Great as a audiobook

A brilliant boxset that kept me enthralled from start to finish. The worldbuilding is fabulous, the mysteries are well plotted and there are lots of great characters and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments.
Hannah Somerville’s narration is fantastic.
An absolute joy to listen to!

I love the premise of this, it should make for really exciting reading! But after the first few stories the action just sizzled out, and all we got were samey stories of Peter and Jolene just talking to witnesses… again and again and again…
And the ending was incredibly anticlimactic, I kept waiting for something else to happen as I couldn’t believe it could end in such a boring manner!
Great value for money (8 books in 1) but rather dull for my taste.
