Summary
Canadian cop Kieran Fox has fallen from grace after a disastrous romance with the wrong guy—the head of a drug cartel. When Sheriff Dillon DePriest moseys on up north begging Kieran to come to his town of Lone Trail, Texas, to help him deal with a gang of murderous drug dealers, Kieran agrees, if only to get away from the scene of his own crime.
Soon thereafter, Kieran learns that the tough little Texas town is knees-deep in an escalating mystery. There’s a cross-dressing Cher impersonator, a killer missing some gold teeth and his...er...dangly bits. I loved the story and the narration!
A Canadian cop and a U.S. marshal - to my mind, these are the ingredients for an interesting story, at least that was my expectation.
I was not disappointed. Canadian Kieran Fox made a mistake by falling in love with the wrong man, which didn't end well. He gets a job offer in faraway Texas, which he accepts straight away. In the small town of Lone Trail, there are several murders that need to be solved.
I liked Kieran right from the start. He is likeable and never misses his target, in the truest sense of the word. In Texas, he meets Jubilee, a U.S. Marshal who lovingly cares for his sister and nephews. He's gay, but won't do a damn thing to come out of the closet in the rural town where he lives. Jubilee is hot and he's smitten with Kieran. The attraction between the two men is palpable, but they can't lose their professional focus.
The story is exciting and action-packed, amusing and emotional in between, and it moves at a fast pace. The writing style is wonderful, so I quickly found my way into the story. The characters are drawn in detail and the secondary characters are also well developed and portrayed. The audiobook captivated me right from the start, so it's no wonder that I listened to it almost in one go.
Another plus for me is the narrator, because Michael Dean knows how to bring the characters to life and read the story in a lively and entertaining way. As always, he did a brilliant job!
And now I would like to listen to the next volume right away, please!

Orgasmic new series!
wow! I loved everything about this audio,the narration was SO good and the storyline is exciting and very well written.
I can't wait for the next one..
I need more..more..more!

An Outsider's Perceptive.
MM, Insta Attract, Small Town, Workplace, Law Enforcement, Contemporary, Mystery, Crime, Romance. First book in series, a fast paced plot with non stop action and drama full of information and great characters, plot twists, crime and corruption. I also found that there is so much wit and humour throughout the story, this is a Page-turner and I was disappointed to reach the end of the story and could of listened on for hours more. HE.
