About this listen

One Tier-1 Naval Special Warfare Operator, trained at the highest levels of any military, with 20-plus years of operational experience. One ex-cop civilian survivalist, who lived through two years of post-apocalyptic hell, unlike seven billion of her fellow humans. And an entire continent heaving with 400 million dead guys.

To save the lives of his children, and rejoin Alpha team and the fight to save humanity, Homer will have to journey across a thousand miles of undead North America with Sarah Cameron, battling heavily armed bands of marauders who shoot first and ask questions never, and ultimately face down the remains of the world's last surviving SEAL team - now led by a malevolent and piratical monster.

This is another great episode in the series, and, as shay's it is enhanced by RC Bray's performance. Fans of the series will love it.

Another great episode

Fred & Ginger, Lennon & McCartney. Fuchs & Bray. Explosive to the end. Awesome.

Nobody does it better.

It was obvious, right from when Homer's journey was glossed over in the main series, that a 'stand-alone' was en route. (Call me cynical, but I am fully expecting a short story about Homer's mission to deal with the Russian boat in the near future!)

I did enjoy this, but it would have been better placed within the main series. As a 'stand alone', we already know what happens at the end, therefore there is no real sense of peril!

Well-performed as always by RC Bray.

Pretty good for a 'filler'.

For those following the original ARISEN series this is a great add in. I really enjoyed it but also made me realise how much I had invested in the world building original series (which has unfortunately finished - but far more satisfying than GoT or The Expanse). R.C. Bray could read the phonebook and be entertaining but also Michael Stephens Fuchs is a really gifted writer and you can see how his style has matured becoming increasingly polished w time - seems like v nice bloke too as took time to respond to personal email question about his writing. Wish him all the best and don't wait too long to bring out another series!

Wonderful fill in - really enjoyed

Fantastic to finally fill that gap after book 3! Excellent narration brings Homer & Sarah's journey to life. Must have for anyone that loves the Arisen series.

Unbelievably good story. Butttt accents need a little work though . Especially when using English slang

I think anyone who has read this series has probably wondered why Homer and Sarah's epic journey across North America to rescue his family was never covered in the original series. It's always seemed odd to me and it seems it's struck enough of a chord with Mr Fuchs too. This book now makes the series feel more complete.

This one isn't quite as fast-paced as the concluding the books in the series were . . . but then again, what is? It's still got plenty of action though and we learn a lot more about Homer's background in the Navy Seals.

It's a really good addition to the series although perhaps the journey itself wasn't quite as epic as it might have been though the last few hours are up there with the best of the rest of Arisen. Of course with RC Bray at the microphone it sounds just great too making it a worthy companion to this thrilling series.

Fuchs Scratches an Itch!

but it didnt live up to the Arisen series.. I suppose it was necessary to find out how Homer and Sara made it back to the Kennedy, If i had my credit back again I'd spend it on the same book, If you read the Arisen series then this is a must to dot the I's and cross the T's.

really enjoyed it

Brought to life Homer's adventure to get his family back. Loved the way his back story was told and what made him the person we knew in the Arisen series.

Brilliant addition to the Arisen story

It was great to dive back into the Arisen universe once again and find out what happened to Homer and Sarah on their journey across the American ZA.

Michael Stephen Fuchs continues to add to an already brilliant storyline, although having read the entire series already it did take something away from the suspense a little given I knew how it would end.

More Alpha goodness
