Summary

When lawyer Daniel Connell receives a visit from his troublemaking old flame, Victoria, pleading for his help, he looks for any excuse not to get involved. But no one else believes her pleas of innocence, and Daniel can see she is terrified. As he enters Vick's life once more, Daniel's search for truth leads from the dark heart of Essex to the mountains of Afghanistan and a terrifying world where monsters are real - and nothing is sacred.

So good!

I love Daniel. I love Gabe. I love Rupert Degas. I’m a simple soul! Seriously, this was a thriller. Though this is my favourite genre, oddly, whilst I can cope with serial killers aplenty (in books obviously!) even in books, I find it hard when the characters seem this real and are so cavalier about the lives of others. I’m still going to listen to the next book though!
