Summary
Even perfect families have secrets....
Niamh and Conor Ryan are the perfect power couple: smart, successful and beautiful, they have an enviable relationship and an idyllic family life. But then the unthinkable happens. Their oldest son, Tom, is the victim of a hit-and-run. What was Tom doing out walking so late at night? Did he really have problems sleeping, or was he secretly meeting someone? Is it a coincidence that his friend, Lauren, committed suicide nearby - or is there something more sinister going on?
Detective Garda Cathy Connolly is part of the team investigating both incidents. As she delves deeper, she realises that all is not what it seems in the Ryan household and that everyone connected to both cases have their own reasons for hiding things from the police.
With her boss and mentor, Dawson O'Rourke, in line for a promotion on the other side of the country, it's time for Cat to consider not only what she wants from her career but also where their relationship is going. However, when a terrorist threat is unveiled close to home, will Cat be able to put the pieces together in time to save the day? Whatever happens though, there is no turning back....

Incredible author - well done Sam Blake!
This is the third in the Kat Connelly series, and the last in the Audible Libary. These books have been the best detective series I have listened to in a long, long time - and I have listened to most of them. Please Audible keep them coming. My eyes are not good enough to read books anymore and I depend on you to keep releasing Sam Blake's books.

Another good listen
Great narration. i have listened to a few books that Aoife McMahon has narrated and always have enjoyed her way of telling a story and her distinctions between characters. Ive listened to.all 3 Cat Connelly books and have enjoyed all of the stories and getting to know Cat. i am looking forward to another Cat Connelly story.

Best to date!
I'm so pleased that I started this series of books from the beginning and have followed the journey of Cat from the outset in Little Bones. The plots, complete with their twists and turns seem to get more intricate and enthralling with each book and this third one had me gripped in a roller coaster ride throughout. It surpassed the other two and I shall be watching keenly for the next in the series. Superb narration! Thank you!

JUST EXCEPTIONAL
If you are going to listen to a 'series ' I can unreservedly recommend Sam Blake's trilogy (so far! pawing the ground waiting for the next 'Cat' storry) performed by Aoife...you made the characters real and alive...thank you. So go ahead and listen...what's keeping you!

Awaiting The Next Book
Enjoyed this as much as the first two. What's the next step for the two main characters in the usual will they won't they scenario.

Flawed writing - decent story
How many times do we need to know that Cat took another sip of coffee? I counted 7 in the penultimate chapter alone. Do we need to know quite how much her stomach churns? Was the kidnapping of SJ 2 months ago, or 6? Both times frames were given. There are many such irritations throughout the writing sadly, which spoiled the listening for me. We must blame poor copy writing, I assume. I heard the book through to the finish only because of the, once again, excellent character full reading by Aoife McMahon - she saved the day!

reasonable listen
all in all a reasonable listen. The ending was quite good....listening to the authors finishing notes I wonder if there will be more adventures of Cathy Connelly published in the future? I would certainly consider listening to any future books in this series
