Metamorphosis is a short (41 minute) prequel to the Minds of Mars series, introducing the reader to Denver Moon, the best private eye on Mars, and her AI associate, Smith, currently residing in her gun. She has been tasked with solving the ongoing attack on, and dismemberment of, female bots hired out as prostitutes by their owner. Four, so far, are dead. But is it really murder?

Narration is split between Amanda Day, who performs the first person delivery of Denver's story with panache, well modulated and paced with just the right amount of emotional input, and Nicholas Cain expertly reading the parts of male protagonists and a few other non Denver inserts. Day has a delicious voice, well suited to her character, and even the slightly off phrasing which she uses feels right (although the substitution of the word veheminense for vehemence is a little puzzling). Cain seems to have a vast array of voices at his disposal. Together their teamwork provides a very enjoyable, easy listen and satisfying delivery of the book. My thanks to the rights holder of Denver Moon, Metamorphosis, prequel to the new Minds of Mars series, who, at my request freely gifted me with a complimentary copy. Definitely recommended to anyone who enjoys Science Fiction thrillers.

It was interesting to learn what had happened in the past but I do so wish it was incorporated in the book.

A very short story would be looked over as its not cost effective to get on a audible subscription.

An entertaining, well written and performed Sc-Fi short story. Denver Moon is investigating the murder of android workers on Mars. The setting is interesting and well described and although short manages to squeeze a lot in. Narration is really good. i received a complimentary copy and am leaving a honest voluntary review.

I always love a good back story pre-queal to help with the story but it was a little short for me. I agree that should have just been added to the first book as the prologue.
