About this listen
Maggie Walker has never called Wirra Station home. Orphaned as a child, she spent more time at boarding school and then working in the city than she ever spent on the edge of the outback. But when her great aunt dies, Maggie inherits everything and reluctantly returns to tidy the place up before selling.
Ambitious cowboy-next-door Max O’Connor has the means and the desire to buy Wirra Station outright and return it to its former glory. But first, he wants elusive Maggie Walker to know what she’s giving up. He challenges her to live at Wirra Station for three months - with him as farm manager. Just one season - and if she still doesn’t love the place, he’ll gladly pay up and she can be cashed-up and careless, with no ties to anything or anyone.
Three months. Two hearts. One summer. Roll on.

Good quick read/listen
Such a nice sweet storyline. Characters that are good and have humour. Narrator delivers well and connects with the personality of the characters.

An enjoyable listen
I enjoyed reading Max and Maggie's story. Their chemistry was clear from the start. I liked the plot and enjoyed listening it all unfold. I look forward to reading or listening to more books in this series I would recommend to others. The narrator was easy to listen to and brought life to the characters.

Verbal communication is overrated!
Maggie will break your heart, she has been raised by her Aunt who, in punishing herself for past mistakes has made Maggie feel judged, unloved and unwanted. The result is a woman with no self confidence, who struggles with social interaction but craves acceptance and family, something Max has always wanted to give her. She is truly upfront with Max when she tells him 'I'm a bit of a mess, within a mess, with a mess to come'
Max knew at 13 when he pulled her from the burning wreckage of the car and saved her life that she was the one for him, but he also knew she wasn't ready and that he had to let her leave before she could return and fill the Maggie shape hole in his heart. This man is amazing, he is strong, patient, passionate, determined and willing to give her everything....if only she will let him.
A fantastically written book, beautifully narrated, this is an author and series I will be continuing with.

Good Listen
Maggie returns home after her great aunt has passed to decide what to do with the families property. She has to decide is she wants to stay in a community that she never feels as if they accepted her and embrace her friend and feelings for the man who has been there for her. Nice quick romance full of emotions and drama. Good Narration.

Such a sweet Listen
This was such an easy book to listen to, Kelly Hunter's characterisation gave great visualisation, coupled with the sweet voice of Amy Soakes Australian lilt I was there, with the smell of the outback, the dust and the heat.
Kelly packed quite a lot into this book, so whilst easy to listen to it certainly had its twists and turns and surprises.
I don't know what book 2 brings and I'm sure it would be a whole new set of characters but I was left with wanting to carry on with Maggie's story, not because I felt the story was left wanting, but I was left wanting more (always a good sign!)

Take me to the Outback!
I have never been to Australia, but Kelly Hunter has sparked the interest in me to go. Maggie inherits Wirra Station, and with unhappy childhood memories ventures back. She is unsure if she will keep the ranch, but has some ideas and if subdivision works, it will hopefully all work out. Max, the sheep farmer is interested in purchasing the land. These two have an unusual history, and though there is attraction, Maggie is not sure she is going to stay. There is a lot to this short story and Kelly Hunter has written it with well developed characters and an interesting story line. There is tragedy to overcome, financial hardship, and secrets to be revealed. I love the characters, Maggie is a tough girl, she has some issues, but a strong work ethic and lot of ambition. Max is warm and understanding, and while his desire to grow his sheep farm is strong, his attraction to Maggie is stronger. These two compliment each other well and I love their journey to happiness.
Narrated by Amy Soakes, her Aussie accent gives this story the authenticity of being in the Outback. I loved her voices for the characters, each has it's own personality and is easily distinguishable. Her pace is perfect and she makes this listen full of the emotional drive it is and takes you with Max and Maggie as they grow.

Maggie and Max!
Maggie has not had an easy life as the accident that took her father and mother when she a child has left her scarred physically and emotionally. She was raised by her Aunt, but she never felt loved and now that she has passed away, she has returned to Wirra Station which she has inherited.
Max is her next-door neighbor and now that Maggie is back he doesn’t only want the land she wants to sell but her wants her as well. He is determined to show her that they belong together and that he loves her just as she is, problems and all.
I really enjoyed the strength of Maggie’s character and how patient and understanding that Max was as he helped her heal from her past. I received a complimentary copy of the audiobook and thought that the narrator was a perfect choice for the story and the characters.
