Terrible narration

The narrator is incredibly annoying, the sing song, ‘up at the end’ of sentences grated on my nerves but I persevered ( only because I had nothing else to listen to). It’s a shame because the story is really quite good.

A bit dull!

Just could not listen any more! The narrator is dull and boring. found myself wondering off and found it hard to concentrate on her voice.

Losing track of time

Couldn't wait to get to the end a little bit predictable perhaps but a good story nonetheless.

Excellent narration

Very enjoyable listen, story had me hooked, it had good pace although it was familiar territory. Well written with a sympathetic central character I was pleased to share the mystery unraveling with.

Just average & a little plodding

I wish that the main character did a little less thinking & that there was more actually going on. The narrator's voice really grated.

Good plot just overwritten

Enjoyed the overall plot of the story but found it abit long winded. The writer kept going over and over what had happened. I think I'd have sued the police department for having dunces. Was very 'Sleeping with the enemy.' The narrative voice was very sugary and for male characters her voice became sinister and creepy ( I thought). I knew the ending even at the very start but wanted to listen to the end. Nothing changed. A few plot twists but I had known the abductor well before the main character had. Applaud anyone writing a book just that it could have been way shorter and in that way gripped you from the start without being tedious and over written.

Annoying tone

I was so tired and the annoying tone of the narrator that I read the rest on my kindle.

Let down by the narrator

If I had read some previous reviews before purchasing, I would have been prepared for the dreadful narration of this story. The constant rise towards the end of sentences became so distracting that I almost gave up after the first chapter. However, I persevered and must have become more tollerant although I do think a grittier narrator is required for this story. The plot was ok with several twists and turns but I found parts very repetative and weak. Overall, an ok thriller read by an irritating narrator.

Good but not the best

As long as you stick to it the endings good but I did not find it cripping enough for me, found my self wanting it to hurry up and finish. If I was reading this I don't think I would of finishes it. I also found the narrating a little to bland so I think that did not help. But it wasn't all bad the actual story was good but took a while to get into.
