About this listen

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of Lock Every Door written by Riley Sager, read by Stephanie Cannon.

You've been offered a luxury apartment, rent free. The catch: you may not live long enough to enjoy it…

No visitors. No nights spent away from the apartment. No disturbing the other residents.
These are the only rules for Jules Larson's new job as apartment sitter for an elusive resident of the Bartholomew, one of Manhattan's most high-profile private buildings and home to the super rich and famous.

Recently heartbroken and practically homeless, Jules accepts the terms, ready to leave her past life behind.

Out of place among the extremely wealthy, Jules finds herself pulled toward other apartment sitter Ingrid. But Ingrid confides that the Bartholomew is not what it seems and the dark history hidden beneath its gleaming facade is starting to frighten her. Jules brushes it off as a harmless ghost story - but the next day, her new friend has vanished.
And then Jules discovers that Ingrid is not the first temporary resident to go missing…

Welcome to the Bartholomew…You may never leave.

I really enjoyed this book. It was chilling and very well written. The narrator was convincing and made the characters very believable. The story was very unusual and there were lots of twists and turns. It visual description was exceptional.

Gripping

I found this book incredibly slow going and the annoying voice if the narrator makes it feel longer however it got better as it went on and and I liked the plot and the characters. A good read overall.

Slow one but got better

It was a reasonably easy listen with great narration, but the plot is utterly ridiculous! I didn’t see the twist coming, but that isn’t always a good thing. In this case, it wasn’t!

Ridiculous!!!

I loved the storyline, it was gripping but still felt like I could believe it! I never appreciate a story so far-fetched but this was great and I couldn’t guess the end!

Really gripping!

Don't often write reviews but felt this one really deserved it. Engaging listen, characters I could admire, sinister story. Well worth my credit

Excellent Story

I enjoy a good thriller and this has ticked every box! I loved the plot and the performance and couldn’t wait to see what happened next. Skilled writer who develops the plot beautifully, brings in turns and twists and makes use of elegant descriptive prose where the opportunity arises. Have recommended to all my friends who enjoy this genre!

Second Riley Sager book I’ve listened too and enjoyed. Mysterious, creepy, enjoyable. Narrator can be a little irritating but not enough to stop me from listening.

Entertaining

This is the second book by Riley Sager that I have devoured in one day. Great just like the last.
