Love is just around the corner . . .
Sweet, shy Mara Hanover is in love with her neighbor. For four years, she has secretly watched her dream man from afar. Handsome police detective Mitch Lawson is way out of her league. She's a girl from the wrong side of the tracks, and there's no way a guy like Mitch would want anything to do with her. But when Mara has a leaky faucet that she can't fix, it's Mitch who comes to her rescue.
Mitch has been eyeing his beautiful neighbor for a long time. He jumps at the chance to help her, and soon their formerly platonic relationship gets very hot and heavy. But when Mara gets a disturbing phone call from her cousin's kids, she gets pulled back into the life she's tried so hard to leave behind. Can the hot law man convince Mara to let go of her past--and build a future with him? (Dream Man Series, Book 3)

Mara is the most irritating character and eventually I had to quit.
Most of the plot is Mitch making a sensible comment followed by a Mara inner monologue (E.g. OMG he’s speaking to me, why is he speaking to me? He’s so hot. I’m not. Never have been, Never will be, but OMG he’s STILL speaking to me!!!!!!!!!) Followed by her verbal response “Um, I don’t know…., oh I don’t think I ……Oh but……..” Followed by him patiently explaining his very clearly self explanatory comment. Followed by her inner monologue. Rinse and repeat.
Weaponised helplessness at its best. Not my cup of tea.
Determined to be clueless

Would you try another book written by Kristen Ashley or narrated by Kate Russell?
NoWhat could Kristen Ashley have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
I prefer my characters to have a modicum of intelligence - and not to score every human being they meet on a 1-10 scoring system. She established the lack of self confidence of the main character with it but then it gets tiring and just stupid.Would you listen to another book narrated by Kate Russell?
PossiblyYou didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?
NoI rarely have to force myself to listen to the end
