Summary
Teenagers Corey Alloway and Bree Dovemuir are best friends. They live on an island where people still pray to ancient Greek gods, and the Underworld is rumoured to be visible from the top of a certain hill. They're closer than sisters—until Bree betrays Corey, and steals her boyfriend, Ali.
Corey is consumed by hatred. She goes so far as to vehemently wish Bree dead. At the annual Thesmophoria Festival, Corey kisses a stranger, a boy with golden lips, to show Bree and Ali she's over them both. And later that night, Bree is found floating in the lake—dead....

Beautiful raw and unforgettable. Easiest 5⭐️
Loved this book so much I came and grabbed an audible copy too. I could not stop turning the pages and devoured this utterly brilliant book in 24hrs.
This is by far the most wonderful and gripping reimagining of Persephone and Hades that I have ever read. The furies are on another level!
I 100% recommend this book, full of the many complex emotions felt by the human race… betrayal, hurt, anger, fear, revenge, joy, hope, love to name a few.
I have every book written by Melinda Salisbury but if I had to choose a favourite - Her Dark Wings has definitely got my top spot.
Corey is an unforgettable and very real girl.
