Would you consider the audio edition of Happy Days to be better than the print version?
I haven't read the book or any in the series, but I have listened to all the Winter/Bazza stories on available on Audible.

What did you like best about this story?
A good conclusion to this series of stories featuring Winter & Bazza.

Have you listened to any of Tim Pepper’s other performances? How does this one compare?
I find Tim Pepper's voice very easy to listen to. He distinguishes the different characters well and I found myself liking some characters and disliking others in this Winter/Bazza collection of stories.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
He dared, but will he win?

You have to read/listen to the other books concerning Paul Winter and Bazza McKenzie to fully understand their relationship, how it came to be and how it ends. This keeps you on tenterhooks for a good part of the story and the main characters show their true colours.

I had real trepidations about how the actor would voice the Pompey locals… living in Plymouth I get annoyed with actors who play Janners sounding like they come from Wiltshire…or some other non descript Wessex village..with that awful Ooh AHH wurzel burr. I need not have worried Tim Pepper must be from Portsmouth, because his “Pompey-Mush Speak is ” perfectly performed. ..and the old style “Dain, and Rain the Rain da bout” accent (translation-down and round the roundabout) is excellent-He must be a Pompey boy.
For us Pompey FC fans, the book also has a lot to say about Portsmouth FC, and the last days of the Premiership under Uncle Avram.

1. I would recommend the book, its up there with Robotham and Rankin-not just for Pomponians- in it’s content.
2. Who is Tim Pepper, he is excellent…what a brilliant narration

As with the previous 'Portsmouth' books, this was a wonderful story, albeit without one of the previous heroes. The complex plot and Tim Pepper's excellent narration kept the excitement going until the end. What shall I do now they are finished? I hear Graham Hurley has come up with another scenario, so I look forward to seeing that on Audible's list.
