Overall not bad

Overall this was okay. The stories weren't bad & the performances overall were good. Some of the accents however were pretty appalling & there were some annoying background special effects which became repetitive & irritating.

Odd but enjoyable

The stories the atmosphere and acting are excellent, the lack of UK English and mispronunciation of places, and wrong (American) emphasis on certain syllables began to wear me down! Always worth a listen, but a shame it couldn’t have been performed by genuinely English-speaking cast members. They sometimes sound like Dick Van-Dyke in Mary Poppins, which is horrific to say the least! Pronouncing Southwark in London as South Wark (instead of Suthick), had me rolling on the floor in stitches. 😂
Yet I love the vibe they have and the genuine warmth and respect for Conan Doyle, hence the four stars…

Trying too hard to be British

The stories are good in themselves. The accents and phrasing of the English and Scottish characters were a little all over the place though. I ended up concentrating on the actors accents more than the story.
