Summary
Gwen's never wanted to be a leader, but when no one else stepped up, she took on the role. As the mayor of post-apocalyptic Shreveport, she's made decisions to protect her people...and most of them have backfired disastrously.
When she discovers the dangerous gold dragon lurking outside of the fort has decided she's his mate, heartsick Gwen thinks the best thing she can do is confront him and take him far away from the city.

Fire in his spirit was hot.
I am enjoying this dragon / draconi series. This book seemed to dwell on an upcoming struggle for dominance of this world and one hopes the pussies are up to it.

Loving this series
I am loving this series. Funny, hot and sweet. I love listening to the dragons trying to work out the females. Great easy listening.

Jesus! They are getting progressively worse.
I don't know why Ruby is so utterly incapable of creating likeable characters, but daaaaaaaaang this Gwen is worse than Amy. She is so full of indecisive, self doubt that literally 6h is gone by the time she makes a decision, which is not a masochistic waste of time. Does she not realise how stupid her actions are. She doesn't seem to follow through logically with anything. And don't get me started with now utterly boring Von is. Honestly, he might be crazy, but he is boring.
I had to give up. These books are a superb lesson in a pointless, lack of communication.

the leading lady self doubt and constant talking crap
I was finding this series of books quite good and I loved each leading lady but this lady really annoyed me. I felt she was just rambling all the time. I didn't like her self doubt or the fact she blamed herself on everything 🤔 maybe it was because I see myself in her or that she was just so annoying. I still would recommend this series
