Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

Following Khan's retirement from the sport in May 2022, in Fight For Your Life: The Autobiography Khan looks back on his exhilarating boxing career that spanned 27 years from his first fight to his last. A role model for his Pakistani heritage, his Bolton upbringing and the best of British sport, Khan also reveals for the first time the full story of his life outside of the ring.

Told with his trademark warmth, humour and honesty, Khan relives his highs and lows. He shares never-before-told stories about his greatest fights and rivalries. He reflects on his Muslim faith and how his family forged him. He reveals dramatic details of a shocking armed robbery attempt when he was held up at gunpoint with his wife Faryal, along with the ups and downs of their marriage. He describes his charity efforts to help Pakistan's devastating floods, and he gleefully recounts the hilarious and heart-warming antics of his everyday life as a husband and father of three children, made popular in the acclaimed BBC Three TV series 'Meet the Khans: Big in Bolton'. The book, which is written in 12 chapters and 12 rounds, shares Khan's relatable and hard-won life advice so that listeners can learn from his triumphs and mistakes.

A very interesting and candid account

It was very interesting to hear first-hand about the rollercoaster journey of one of our most famous athletes. Amir was very open and held nothing back. A great read

Great insight into of the best British boxers

The intro is done by Khan, but the rest has someone else doing the narration. They did a pretty good job of it and have a similar accent which makes it read like you're listening to Amir Khan.

Amir rarely gets the recognition for being one of the best British boxers, but if he he had a Ring IQ and Fight IQ to match his speed & power, he would have been unstoppable. He was one of the few who would have given Mayweather a run for his money.

There are times in the book which can be a little frustrating. Amir has a lot of excuses for his losses, and never really takes any responsibility. I am sure a lot of what he is saying is accurate, but it would have been nice to hear him just accept defeat.

The way Amir Khan views himself compared to others is interesting, but fighters need that ego to survive in boxing.

overall, it is an interesting book and I grew up with Amir Khan Olympic era, and met him 15 years ago, and he was a real gentleman. Fans of Amir will like this book a lot, but be prepared for some disrespectful views towards his opponents..

Too short

Decent enough way to spend one of my excess tokens but far too short and no real story telling. Being honest - I found it Interesting but boring
