About this listen

Everything was going according to plan . . . until it fell apart in the most spectacular way . . .

Ex-SEAL Ryan "Reaper" Hamilton is well on his way to having it all. His marriage to Kate is finally on solid ground, and his goal of being a K9 trainer with Iniquus's Cerberus team is within reach. Finding a dangerous spy's flash drive (and becoming the object of her twisted, vengeful obsession) was not on his agenda. But that's all it takes to throw his world into chaos.

It's not long before Reaper finds himself fighting for everything he holds dear—his wife, his son, his career . . . his sanity.

When all is said and done, will Reaper and Kate get the happily ever after they deserve? Or will they learn that the good guys don't always win?

Contains mature themes.

Well worth waiting for

Ryan “Reaper” Hamilton and his wife Kate first appeared in the Kate Hamilton trilogy, which I have listened to and enjoyed several times, so I pre-ordered Fear the Reaper as soon as I saw it. When it arrived, I finished it in a single day. And I expect to listen to it again very soon.

The trilogy is written from Kate’s point of view during a highly traumatic period some months before the start of Fear the Reaper which focuses more on Reaper’s work with Iniquus. There are many apparently disparate threads in this story. They are skilfully bound into an explosive finale.

As always with Fiona Quinn the characters are well rounded with their own individual quirks and passions. A number of characters from previous books in the series make minor appearances here. I personally enjoy knowing their previous back-story, but I don’t think it is essential as far as enjoying this book goes. I would, though, strongly recommend reading/listening to the Kate Hamilton trilogy first.
