Summary
Sometimes, trust can get you killed.
Deep Del Toro, an Iniquus special operative on the Strike Force Team, listened to the radio as the announcer gave details of Lacey Stuart's upcoming press conference. He had watched video of her fighting off the FBI agent and escaping from a murder scene the night before, and now she was turning herself over to the police. What Deep's practiced eye saw in the video was a highly choreographed crime. But somehow Lacey had thwarted the professionals' plans. She was in imminent danger.
When Deep saves Lacey from a sniper's bullet at the press conference, he becomes enmeshed in a mystery that includes the FBI, the CIA, and a tangle of interconnected international crimes.
Deep and Lacey work as a team to discover who plays the good guy and who plays the bad guy in a gray world where right and wrong easily overlap.

Fabulous book
Wow what an amazing and complex story. I was on edge the whole way through this book. I loved seeing Deep go all Alpha with his woman. Not in an obvious way but a sensitive and caring way. I’m excited to see what transpires next. Wonderful narration too.

Totally over the top but 👍
If you have read/listened to any of Fiona Quinn’s other books you know what you are getting- a romance set in an adventure story involving hunky men and some determined woman ( who often have doubts). This one is no different,
Deep, who should be on holiday, hears that someone he has met (and who had affected him deeply) has been involved in, and accused of, a murder. As she is about to tell the world the real story, her life is threatened. Deep saves the girl from the attack and the rest develops from there.
Lexi (from other Fiona Quinn books) appears in this one.

alright...
I loved the lynx series and the plot of this was interesting. but the relationship part let it down for me. firstly, love at first sight is dull. i much prefer seeing them develop a relationship so this felt boring and hard to connect with. I wasn't fussed by either character really. I'd have preferred a female narrator as I didn't click with lacey at all. though the male one did a job good. i hope the rest of the series is better... but now I don't know whether to use my credit on a different series instead. there's so many and I do love this author's books. her plots are so unique!

Good story
Unusual storyline. Kept me listening and tense but not anxiety provoking action. Some funny bits. Standalone story but overlaps with other books in the series
