About this listen

Get ready for the endgame.

James, fresh from the high of joining his players for the Siege Event, gets a mysterious invitation from Hades and is soon confronted with a truth that is impossible to deny. A truth that sets him on a collision course with the most powerful figures in the world and could spell the end of DCO itself.

With an impossible task ahead of them, James and Rue embark on one last immersion together. One last dive with the Knights, one last new floor, and one last set of random mobs. But even the shenanigans of the Random Dungeon can only distract them for so long because one final patch is coming, a worldwide event is coming.

And if James and his friends can’t stop what is coming, it’s game over for everyone.

The story was okay, but I felt there was a bit too much repetition in reminding the reader how bad the "bad ending" would be. This constant foreshadowing made some parts feel predictable rather than suspenseful. Additionally, the ending felt somewhat abrupt for my taste—I would have liked a smoother or more developed conclusion. That said, I do appreciate that the book had a proper ending, which is always better than an unresolved finish. Overall, an okay read, but it could have been paced better.

not bad not good

the book overall was fine but I just feel like a lot of story was left untold. maybe the author just wanted to be done with this series, but it just sucks that instead of it being more of the silly random dungeon doing random things to get ahead, it turned into world ending drama. no closure on how it happened or what really happened next just cut to years later and a little bit of what went down, instead of just saying it while it was happening.

A bit disappointed

Like every other book in the series, this one is filled with humorous interactions and well-developed, interesting characters. However, it sadly skips over much of the dungeon aspect, which was a bit disappointing. It feels like the author wanted to tell a different story by the end, and the conclusion comes across as rushed, especially given how much I enjoyed the series overall.

That said, if you're a fan of LitRPG, fantasy, or just great storytelling, I definitely recommend diving into the Dungeon Core Online series. Despite the rushed ending, you won't regret spending time with the characters and the MC

Travis Baldree does another amazing job bringing the characters to life, really capturing their personalities and emotions. His narration adds so much depth, making the story even more engaging. He’s definitely a huge part of what makes the Dungeon Core Online series so enjoyable!
