overall this book is a good read, it's funny and engaging, the only issues i have with it are small things like how the author insists on reciting the recipe for every spell cast for the first time, even in the middle of what is supposed to be an action packed fight scene, this slows it down, especially in chapter 75 where the heroes opponents cast like 10 unique spells, and is unnessessary as either we don't see them cast again or the mc does learn them at which point the author can just write the bloody recipe in at that point.

It's a classic caped superhero setting but very well thoughtout. protagonist is likeable and smart in a believable way. resourceful but can be reckless.

Yeah this one is getting placed straight into the favourites folder. It hits just the right buttons of being a whacky/unpredictable story, comedic undertones, non-stupid MC that I actually like, and intriguing superhero world building. Would definitely recommend 4.7/5

What a great audiobook! The story and characters are really strong. It felt like you had three or four books in one, as characters and plots continued to develop and evolve. The teenage perspective works well and the gives a great angle for learning all of the workings for this world. It's definitely great value and keeps your attention.

The performances were strong as well, I really enjoy SBT (the group who recorded this) as you although you get a main peformer, you get a number of other voices that help keep the story clear and more natural.

Can't wait for book 2.

Industrial Strength Magic by #Macronomicon, published by 🎧 #SoundboothTheatre and 🎙️narrated by @FiatCelebrity, @JtJames89, Annie Ellicott and @stevecampbellvo. This book is immense, intense and insane. The MC is a standout character, think Iron Man on steroids.

Our MC Perry is fantastic. I loved the⚡️powers he unlocks during the story. He is a 'super' but unlike any other before him, he goes through a broken system that allows him to gain power exponentially rather than incrementally. We are left with one serious OPAFMF called Paradox.

Paradox's best friend Heather joins him in their super debut wearing armour suits. It's a funny moment because they look like they are made of cardboard and from this the 'cardboard kid' nickname sticks. Considering they are trying to steal money from a weapons sale it's comical.

I enjoyed the levelling-up system in this book: it's a slow grind to gain XP meaning it's hard won. When our MC Perry succeeds, the rewards are original and interesting. When he unlocks the garage tinkerer trait, he can make or modify anything, a boon of imagination follows.

At one point he modifies his cardboard suit, which becomes stronger than steel but remains as light as cardboard. I very much enjoyed the ideas and imaginations that flowed through this novel.

I can only applaud the writer 🪶 for a job well done.

This series was one I sank into right away, I like the action and the setting. I already can’t wait for the next one.

Also it goes without saying Soundbooth Theater and all involved were great!

The story is very good, but not perfect. the voice acting is the best I have ever heard.
My only concern is the weird threesome relationship that seems to be building with the protagonist and his love interests.

This is a great story! Perry's struggles at the start with his inability to use magic as he has wished since childhood.

The author has done a great job in fleshing out the world of supers, adding politics and differences in polices between different cities.

The narrators at SBT does a great job, the voices for each character fits their personality and makes then easy to differentiate! Can't wait for more!!
