This book covers a range of real -life practicalities that the bereaved often face, from being overwhelmed by admin and the effect that this has as its gone through, to forgiveness and friends. I had never heard of the 12 steps of grief before either. These real-life stories from people who have experienced loss and who have given their time to talk about how they felt and how they cope is a huge help - just knowing you are not alone - and I know how important that is, especially with the ‘small things’.
The description of the ‘grieving brain’ was just so perfect as was the description of dealing with going back to work. The author very clearly knows this well and knows what, not just those grieivng, but their wider family and friends, need , that can support and help.
A huge resource and comfort for anyone experiencing grief or who want to support those struggling (and not telling you). It is comforting to listen to (and sad at times) but it is also extremely practical with good advice and tools to cope.
I have listened 4 times now - a wonderful and much appreciated book.
