Summary

The Deliverance has arrived.

The planet is beautiful, lush, teeming with life and perfectly suited to the colony’s needs. It should be a paradise.

Instead, it’s a nightmare.

Caleb knows the truth. The ship’s real mission has nothing to do with settlement. The plan is much more sinister than that.

Now the race is on to prepare for the coming storm, to secure the colony, and find the enemy before the enemy finds them.

But when fear leads to a desperate betrayal, will it be the innocent who pay the ultimate price?

Good scifi, pitty sliced for money making scheme

Overall it's a good scifi, even though the first book (ie, just a couple hours!!) I thought was going to be an unimaginative starship trooper style - I'm glad that's not the case. My issue is with how audible chops them up into bite size versions and expected 2 or 3 times the credits to buy them. (Even with the first 3 free on plus, I find this practice horrible).

Enjoyable Sci-Fi

This series is pure escapism.

The colony has finally landed on what appears to be lush haven. However, all that glitters is not gold, as Caleb and his charges are about to find out.

Still enjoying this immensely. Just one anomaly which shows not enough attention was paid to the story. When Caleb demanded AI, Hal, remove himself from Sho's body and take another. The only one available was a trife. After Hal explained that he would be unable to communicate by speech in a trife's body, the next moment he is speaking, with Sho's voice, in a trife's body. Pretty big gaffe.

the decline is steady

The first book in the series is captivating, giving off vibes of classic, high-level, space story.
The second started to subvert the strife in somewhat expectant manner, and the third is run-of-the-mill space-alien-conspiracy.
despite that, the first two books gave off such a start, that I'll be buying the next one for sure, and inclined to do the same for the one after it.
Not losing hope yet.
